Mother love and good hygiene

 Yesterday a thing happened.  The photos disappeared. I had to redo them and did, mostly, the places referred to in the text. From the start I have tried to show where we are walking; to get the feel on endless straight roads or uniform flats as much as we have exciting castles. I have decided to change the way I do things. I am going to write the thing first, then do the pictures and hope to balance the two strings of this, rather limited, bow.

Into Algete we go.  It is another place where cars have done wonders. In 1842 1944 people lived here. By 1960 it was 1181.  The population quadrupled by 1981 and did so again by 2011. Today 21,144 call it home.  Recent elections saw the PP beat the PSOE by 152 votes. Vox came third - with 13.57% of the votes.

To Parque Europa. 1116 people felt it worth reporting and they opined 4.2 stars. Gerard felt ‘Great little park  with good exercise area and a very nice restaurant cafe to chill in .’  

Out we go into the countryside. We will turn onto the M-123 and pop into a Farming School. La granja escuela botero. It had a website which cannot be found and maybe this four year old review will tell us why.  Marta wrote ‘Of all the farms we've been to, this was the worst. The children had macaroni with tomato sauce, even though we'd been told it was supposed to be with meat. It was incredibly expensive, the most expensive of all, and the teachers had a meager breakfast and an even worse lunch. We've been to many, but they clearly don't know how to run things properly here. What a shame! ‘

On we go to Alalpardo. It only has a wiki page in Spanish. Alalpardo seems to be in a life and death struggle with Valdeolmos. In the 1850s it disappeared, as a municipality, when Valdeolmos absorbed it. In 1943 the town hall moved back to Alalpardo and in 1996 the government became hyphenated as Valdeolmos-Alalpardo.  Currently 2430 live there.

Time for a rest. El Faisan de Oro opens 2pm to 5pm every day, except Monday. It reopens from 9pm to 11.30pm on Friday and Saturday.  Fivre days ago Sandra was impressed. ‘We didn't have a reservation, and thanks to the owner, Esther, she made room for us for two people. We were really looking forward to going.

We ate very well at El Faisán de Oro. As soon as we sat down, they served us venison chorizo ​​as an appetizer, which was delicious and a nice touch. For starters, we ordered two artichokes and scrambled eggs with turkey ham and prawns, and we liked them quite a lot. Then we tried the foie gras lasagna, which was very good, and the turbot with black butter. The latter was the only thing that left us a little unsure, because the texture made us think it might have been frozen.

For dessert, we ordered the pear cake, and it was delicious; we loved it. The restaurant is a very intimate and welcoming place, where they make you feel right at home. Esther, the owner, is lovely, and you can tell they take great care of this place. That warm and friendly service makes the experience even better. We paid about €50 per person on average. Overall, a very good experience and a place we would return to. ‘
