We (and seen a few other tourists as well) went up on a Wednesday, on which it's supposed to be open according to the sign on the gate, yet it was shut with no further explanation what's so ever (nor a note on the bigger sign to say don't bother)... It was rather windy that day, so maybe they kept it open because of that, but still, that's no excuse for not providing any information…’ Down we go, through the suburbs and down some steps and by the railway terminal. I suspect people rarely get full ‘Brief Encounter’ on stations unless they are on heritage lines.
