A quick dash before we come to the end of a day. The Playa de Torreblanca is before us. It is a 4.5 star beach.  Three months ago Marie said ‘Good beach. A lot of sea shells. Public bathroom in good condition’ We are in the land of places to eat and buy beachwear.  Restaurant Lemon has 236 reviews from 4.8 stars.  Yesterday Andrew reckoned ‘Outstanding main course, spiced authentically Lebanesse.’ Momag Burgers and Gin https://www.momagburgers.com/menu   Three months ago ioan said ‘We had the best burger in a while..! Fresh and very tasty, also great portion. We did had to wait until we were served the food, as it seemed to be only one person to cook, but it was worth the wait. Not very spacious, a few tables, that’s why it might be possible that yo u have to wait a while before getting a table!’ We are about to head inland. Dark sand, clean water, calm to moderate waves

Greenwich Museum has a wonderful display where you see the area growing over time, with railways arriving and the like. This area needs one showing how the bleak and barren cliffs are slowly corseted with concrete and all manner of the arts of engineers to keep them from falling down and blocking the newly arrived roads. You may be pleased to know that the route we start on has been walked as part of the daily kilometres that were needed to account for this walk.  For the life of me I can not remember where we were at the time.  I think we might have started the journey back from Santiago - but I may be way out and do not intend to go back the two plus years in posts to find out. Let us stop over at the Yucas Cafe & Bar.   https://grupoyucas.es/yucas-cafe-bar/   The website gives you an all-round view.  It is LGBTQ+ friendly and has over 4000 reviews.  Top words are sea [282], vision [110], brunch [101], cocktail [56], sunset [51], cliffs [12], e...

Three ways of approaching the same place in different times

Image
We are walking along the seafront without a care in our hearts.  I have just remembered that I meant to mention the world’s worst attempt at pick pocketing, which occurred in Malaga. Picture the scene, a mum, a dad and boy - sitting on his father’s shoulders.  We are crossing the river when someone brushes by.  I say someone brushes by because it feels more like a grab.  Now, while I have the legs of a god, and not one of those strange half animal ones, they were disguised well by a pair of combatish trousers with velcroed pockets so I felt this wasn’t someone over come with less than well placed desire. I shifted, they were unsuccessful. I registered the failed pickpocket.  Never mind hey. Time to move on.  OK, turn back and change direction.  A minute later they tried again with the same totally lack in skill or artistry.  This time herself got out her phone and went to take pictures and they fled the scene. To fail badly once can be seen...

A confused wander along the seafront in July 25.

We are going to wander along the seafront of Torremolinos. It is why people come here, that and the associated cafes et al.  We will sample them as we go. First to Eden Chiringuito. It has a pride flag and a black and white photo by it.  It says it is LGTBQI+ friendly.  https://edentorremolinos.com/   The key words are beach 246, hammock, 47, deckchairs 34, LGBTQ 19, Gay 16, sun beds 16.  A couple of picks. Beach - Mimo five months ago. Fun beach club, mostly attracting a gay/queer crowd and with vibes going from more chill to more party-like towards the evening (at least on the weekend). Food was also quite nice and the staff mostly very friendly and helpful. Hammock - Roy Very posh.  Lots of sexy men.  A bit disappointed that staff didn’t come to check in to see if I wanted a beer or something to eat.  Left me me feeling a bit unimportant to the staff.  Very comfortable hamacas . Beautiful posh private beach area   Very...
