 It feels a bit of a five things day but first we are passing Pegasus Aviacion and they have some fun planes on display so lets look at them before heading down the byways.

Back to the byways.   Spain did not attend the first Olympic Games of the modern era - 1896.  They did go to the 1900 Paris  games. Eight competitors appeared in three sports.  Jose de ||Amezola y Aspizua and Francisco Villota got gold in the Basque pelota, although in those Olympics they gave silver for first place.  

While we are at it Pedro Pidal, 1st Marquess of Villaviciosa de Asturias got a silver medal in live pigeon shooting, but this event is not recognized by IOC as an official event as the winner was given a money award.  The IOC also decided, in 2024, to transfer Lloyd Hilderbrand’s gold in the 25km cycling from Britain to France because he was born and brought up in France. Given wiki accorded his birth place as Tottenham questions need to be asked.   Spain didn’t go back to the Olympics until 1920.
