Eight years of silence

 We are going for a stroll along what happens when a sun bleached coast, the home of fishermen, gets settled, accesses water for irrigation and lots of people with money and need to spend it somewhere.  We will have to nip out across the road to get the full Marbella entrance way experience.



The Filipino Massage Centre https://filipinomassagecenter.com/ we give you a massage at the rate of 35 euros an hour.  I looked at the reviews.  Two identical ones, I suggest, contain more fantasy and attempts to diminish the reputation of this place than I can comment on.  A year ago Sharon said ‘I had an excellent massage with Tina recently. I asked her to concentrate on certain areas and she did exactly what I requested, including a wonderful head massage. They offer a great deal on Tues and Friday, €35 for a one hour massage. Atmosphere is very relaxing. I would highly recommend.


Over the road in the Pasteleria Amaretto.   They have a facebook page - which was last updated in April 2023. https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100053111005509  A month ago Javier  said ‘Both the coffee and the cakes (homemade) are top-notch. Highly recommended.’ 


Down the road is Pan & Mermelada.   https://www.panymermelada.com/  It gets 4.2 stars from over 1000 reviews.  Six days ago Beatriz wrote ‘Joaaa was lovely, very attentive, and the food was delicious. I will definitely be back. Congratulations to the excellent team!’   About the same time haleh concluded ‘The best Almond cappuccino in Spain☕️👌🏻😍we love this place, super friendly and nice staff with great management, great atmosphere , music , coffee everything ❤️🌷’

  Pina de Ebro has something for everyone who enjoys the architecture of Spanish pueblos.  It has the tiny lanes, on which houses have been rebuilt for generations without a care for the needs of the modern motorist.  We have the pathways which have been tiled over but once were dirt tracks.  We have the modern suburban developments of low rise houses and 80s hopefully aspiring shacks.  First all, however, we have a park.   In North Lincolnshire there is an OS square which is all but empty,  In a single corner stretches a few metres of power cables to spoil the virgin whiteness.  Today’s walk is not so blessed with flat calm.  We will see trees.  We will see ups.  Views are compulsory.  Houses aren’t.  Let's talk about Asturias in the years from 718 to 757. In 711 the full force of the Islamic tide swept from North Africa into Visigothic Spain. At the Battle of Guadalete King Roderic and much of the nobility were killed and the Iberian Peninsula collapsed before the all conquering crescent.  The thing is, Asturias is a long way from the main body of Spain.
