We are very sorry for the experience

The plan is today to show how Malaga has hit a steep hill. A hill so steep that the town has ended.  However this is not the case because they have just kept on building up. When were there - almost twenty years ago, an oval of roads had lassoed another piece of improbable hillside and the cuts int he fresh soil where the rain had sliced into it were not aesthetic.  It seems a bit more solid today.

Moving down we come to the Puerto del Candado. This sort of marks the end of Malaga. Here is a port, well, a harbour, and why not.  As a thing it has no Google review  but the Candado Beach Restaurante bodas y eventos en Málaga. It was opened in 1992 https://www.grupogorki.es/ and offers sea views and twinkly lights.  Almost 1400 people have reviewed the place.  Angel gave one star three weeks ago.  ‘We had a reservation. And after half an hour looking for parking, with someone on crutches, they tell us they didn't have the table and wanted to put us at a table next to the bar.’  The owners replied ‘We are very sorry for the experience you described and the inconvenience caused, Ángel. At Candado Beach, we strive to provide excellent service and honor all reservations. We appreciate you letting us know, as it helps us improve our reservation system and parking management to prevent situations like this from happening again. We hope you will give us another opportunity to provide you with the experience you deserve.’

We are on the beach front now. This is very heaven. We stayed along here. To be able to tumble out of bed, take a wrong and end up in the med.  Actually, the best bit is the grilling of sardines as you wait.  Sea, grilled fish and a pleasing red wine.  Heaven.

Bar Restaurante Victoria comes in with 4.4 stars from 1964 reviews.  https://www.facebook.com/barrestaurantevictoria?fref=ts The Facebook page has grilled fish galore.  The last post was on 4th January, which is good going as far as we have seen. Two weeks ago Patrick wrote ‘We enjoyed a superbly prepared pork rib and an apple tart with homemade vanilla ice cream. Absolutely wonderful, for €25 per person, including drinks and coffee. We're going back on Monday, as we've booked a paella. This restaurant is definitely worth a visit.’

On we go, sniffing the air and breathing the atmosphere.  We will end on a bridge. The Pasarela Peatonal has two reviews. They are of five stars. Coyotuco wrote ‘It saves you a long detour.’ It crosses the Arroyo Galica. It is one of those slightly disappointing and mildly stagnant affairs which, this winter, turned into a gushing torrent.

We go Malagawards tomorrow.
