On the service road to the floodable ford

Yes, i went past the turning so we are going to have to go back and under the main road.  Today is going to be one of those days when we are going along the track beside the motorised road but with a difference. This one has a sign, a speed limit [20km] and a name - Camino de Servicio.  Now class, I want you to learn that because that is what we will call them from now on.  We will also pass a sign that says ‘Vado Inundable’  This means Floodable ford.  We are going to cross a dry river bed.  Now I want you all to keep a look out for it.

We won’t actually get to see much until the end of the hike.  Inland a bit is the Puente del Grado.  Given Grado is a town in Asturias on a more or less 20o slope and a long, long, street out of town I am not sure f the connection.  It is another girder railway bridge.  Rainer wrote ‘A curious site, the 1884 railway bridge now in the middle of nowhere. A monument to the sad abandonment of rural railways in Andalusia and depopulation, it's a spectacular scenic spot that evokes bygone days. It's also a film location: a train robbery in Warren Beatty's Reds was filmed here.’

We are progressing into March.  Weatheratlas.com says of the weather in these parts:

March, the first month of the spring in Guadix, is a cool month, with an average temperature fluctuating between 11.8°C (53.2°F) and 4°C (39.2°F).  In Guadix, Spain, in March, during 13.8 rainfall days, 53mm (2.09") of precipitation is typically accumulated. In Guadix, Spain, during the entire year, the rain falls for 110.8 days and collects up to 451mm (17.76") of precipitation.  Months with snowfall in Guadix are January through April, October through December. In Guadix, in March, during 3.3 snowfall days, 76mm (2.99") of snow is typically accumulated. Throughout the year, in Guadix, there are 19.3 snowfall days, and 433mm (17.05") of snow is accumulated.

We’ve got to get through March, April promises much.

As for daylight.  Twilight began at 7.11am today and the sun will finally get a shift on and rise at 7.35am.  It will set at 7.12pm and twilight ends at 7.37.  This compares to London where twilight begins at 6.05 am, sunrise is at 6.37, sunset is at 5.47pm and twilight ends at 6.18pm.

By the time we get to the end of the month daylight saving will have kicked in so sunrise is at 7.58am but sunset is 9pm.

Towards the end of the day we will cross the road and go past an industrial estate.  Meradona- Bloque Logistico are here and is a 4.1 starred warehouse.   Two weeks ago Kebir was not happy ‘I have such a bad experience every time I come to this Mercadona. If it's not because I'm late, it's because they have so many trucks still waiting to be unloaded. If they can't handle the workload, they shouldn't place so many orders. What a shame about the management! And we drivers are the ones who end up suffering. They should hire more people if the ones inside can't manage.’   A month ago Mario was pleased. ‘The best site for downloading. The staff is very friendly and downloads are fast.’

I think that is enough excitement for one day. Tomorrow things we can go into.
