Honour the flower-growing fathers
We are starting today with a review of Stafford Castle for no good reason than I want to. Clicking in lowest review, of this 4.5 star attraction, Patrick says ‘It’s just some fields with a pile of bricks on a hill’ . Patrick has done nine reviews. He is keen on Captains Vape Lounge, The Crown, Ego at the Fox & Dogs, the bottomless brunch at the Turtle Bay, the Greenhouse, the Loxley and Doha, Qatar. All get five stars. He does not like the Etihad Stadium, The Soloman Cutler - Disco Spoon’s and Stafford Castle. Taste is an individual thing and who can say how a bottomless brunch would take one, compared to the an always empty sports stadium. However, I do feel we need to take task some items of fact. Majestic 11th century earthworks and a subtle History of change and development is not for everyone. Stafford Castle is not some fields with a pile of bricks on a hill. It is a pile of cut stones on top of a commanding hill.’ Where was I?
We start the day, where we left off, Puerto Adentro. According to its one language wiki page 217 people live there. They are big on the feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel and have caves that were settled between the Upper Palaeolithic and Neolithic.
I did want us to pop into Juan y Ana’s restaurant but it appears to be permanently closed. Sylvia gave the last review, a year ago. It said ‘There were three of us there, and all three of us loved our food! Grilled fish, octopus, and chicken fillet in a mustard and honey sauce! We'd love to come back!’
Next door is a dentist. I don’t think we have been to a dentist. Doctora Maribel Busto Fontela gets five stars from nine reviews. Kim reckoned ‘I had to have two teeth removed this morning. I was only in the chair for approx 30 minutes. I felt no pain at all during the procedure. The best dentist I and my wife have ever been to and we are now 64.’
Out we go into one of those flat Spanish landscapes, where bits of agriculture mix with industry in a semi-random fashion. SURPALET is one such. It is a packaging supplier; opens 8 till 8 every day but Sunday and gets 3.6 stars. The Mode average is 4. A couple of 1s drags it down. Actually the last review was three years ago and most were seven.
On! On! To yet another one of those roundabouts Spain does. Should this be a mere functional place for cars to go round! Heaven to Betsy no! The Rotonda de los claveles gets 4.4 stars from five reviews. Jose thought ‘I think it's wonderful that you've thought of this gesture in honor of all the flower-growing fathers and grandfathers in the area. I hope they always keep it beautiful. Thank you.’
We will pass Sanchez Morales Hnos SL - which goggle describes as a pig farm. People seem to like it but don’t say why.
We will end the day near Jiffy Products Espan SLU. http://jiffygroup.com/ According to their website they are ‘Developing sustainable plant growing solutions together’ Tarik Ma*****k [how sweary must his name be?] is the only person to say why he gave four stars. ‘Fast download without problems’
We will push on and hope for a better day.
