Textiles and other sorts of coves
It is a day where we will hug the coast and end on the road less traveled, well, less tarmaced. I can’t say if it is like it today but it was in 2016,when the Boys and Girls of Streetview headed down this way.
Is it time to camp it up. Camping Playa de Mazarron gets heading towards 5000 reviews. https://www.playamazarron.com/ The website has a video and a visita virtual. For those of you keen on these sorts of things the keywords on the reviews are ‘sea’, ‘facilities’, ‘dogs’, ‘natural stone’ and ‘shortcut.’ 12 hours ago - and bear in mind I’m writing this in December, Katarina wrote ‘Great campsite. I can only recommend it.’ Kat is German, as have many of our recent reviewers.
Gilbert [French] is very fulsome ‘A large, well-laid-out and landscaped campsite with numerous clean sanitary facilities (except after some inconsiderate use). Note: the main men's toilets are currently being renovated. Pitches have water, electricity, and drainage. Competitive rates with the Bono discount (for longer stays), making it less than €17/day all-inclusive. The beach and sea are on one side, and the village and restaurants on the other. The staff are very friendly and helpful. One small drawback: given how busy it is, it sometimes feels like you're in Germany.’
The beach, according to Google, is ‘This coarse, gold-sand city beach on the Mediterranean Sea features a promenade & a play area.’ Not sure about the city - Playa de Bolnuevo has a few houses but is not really urban. Jennifer felt it was ‘My favorite beach after 5 years of living in Spain. The surroundings are otherworldly with natural sandstone formations and the water is nice and deep close to the shore. Sandy beaches. Best to be a good swimmer but it's gorgeous.’ Laura was also pro. ‘Very nice and clean beach. With a wooden floor access to the beach that can help for disabled people. The sediment structures are visibles from the parking directly no need for an adventure walk to them 😊 …’
On we go, along the rocky road. The Playa de Punta Bela has 56 reviews but only five key words. ‘Stairs’, ‘Naturist’, Chiringuito’, ‘Algae’ and ‘Shower.’ Antonio liked the place ‘A cove with parking, very limited parking, for 20 cars. It's the starting point of the Bolnuevo coves trail. A very pretty, quiet cove with crystal-clear waters, black/gray sand, and warm even in winter.’ Gema didn’t ‘The first cove is mixed; the following ones are NATURIST, but there's little or no such thing. The people who practice it hide among the rocks, as groups of friends and families arrive who aren't planning to do so, and I don't understand why they're looking for it when there are much better textile coves. They even take the 20-minute walk to reach a nudist cove and annoy people. Don't come to Bolnuevo looking for naturism. I think they should better specify the type of cove just before the descent, asking for respect.’
Actually, I like the term ‘textile cove.’
We will continue along Pedro Lopez Meca Avenue and end the day at the Playa de Piedra Mala. Marc reckoned ‘Very good, very clean, access a little difficult but for lovers of authenticity and nature, great beach and fairly small space’
