Beautiful view, be careful

You know you want to know we are dropping down 275m today.  We get to see the sea which is the most important thing. At the time of writing an article has appeared in the papers about how simply awful it is that American English are being used in English as is used in Blessed Albion. Didn’t help that they used examples of survivor words from Shakespearian English however I suspect they have the article in a ‘slow news day insert here’ file.  So what of Spanish.  I have not, with confidence, been able to find out how many ‘loan words’ exist in English.  It has been suggested 1000 or 10,000 words from Castile's mother tongue that are putting in a shift.  Mind you, I love the phrase ‘loan words’ - as if, at some point, Spanish will ask for them back.  Language is a flighty piece and tends to hang out where it will and ain’t going back whatever time its Mothertongue has said it should be home by.

I supposed some these are more obvious than others.  Alligator, mosquito and nachos are propping up English in their own individual ways. I am not weighing in on the loaning of words from Galician or Catalan as I am not enough of an expert - as in, not at all, to be able to judge what is accurate from the websites |I have had a quick graze in but I believe that bizarre comes from the Basque word for a particular type of beard.

We are descending among some nice views. We will pass the Mirador Cuestas del Cedacero.  4.6 stars is how people rate this.  Two weeks ago Tomas thought ‘A nice parking lot for three cars with benches and a wonderful view of the sea. It was windy, but worth the stop.’  Anthony warns ‘Beautiful view, be careful parking as the ground is very uneven’

Let us pause at the Centro de Imagen Personal Tamara. The website link isn’t working but three months ago Miguel gave five stars and said ‘She is my trusted hairdresser during the holidays, she cuts hair well and she is a very nice person.’  Matilde felt ‘I'm delighted with Tamara. She's a wonderful professional and takes great care of her clients. She recommends the best treatment for your needs and is always right with me. I definitely encourage you to meet her.’  Likewise Amaya opined ‘It has been very gratifying, I have left the haircut, hairstyle and massage very happy.’

We will end at the Restaurante Casa Del Nono. https://restaurantecasadelnono.es/  The site warns us ‘If you search for us on Apple Maps or Safari on your iphone, you may see outdated opening hours.’  It says to use Google Maps.  Google Maps says it opens from 1pm till 4.30pm, with 8-11 on Fridays and Saturdays - closed on Monday.

A month ago Mark was happy.  ‘Called without making a reservation and they were able to squeeze 5 of us in at short notice, how lucky were we. Service and food were absolutely excellent. All of us had the menu del dia, at 17 euros per person it was great value. We will definitely be back again soon, thank you 👍’

Five days ago Paul was less so.  ‘I have been here many times in the past 20 years and always had good meals. But the last couple of times, once during the summer we had a lunch from the carta and last week for a menu del dia, both meals have been disappointing. The summer visit was expensive and it was nothing special. The menu del dia has also gone up in price, drink is not included now, the portions are smaller and one person in our group had lamb, which was a neck, very little meat and just vertebrae, not appetising at all. I understand food prices have gone up, but I would prefer to pay more and have a quality meal. We will not be going again for the time being.’

As always, go to this 4.5 star [1231 reviews] gaff and work it out for yourself.
