I don’t know why people loves it just for some mountains 🏔️ I came here for volcano 🌋 not mountains
We are going up a mountain. It is going to be a big one. It’s a beautiful day. We’re not tired. Apparently it is three and a half hours up.
We are going to be 3715m above sea level and 7500m above the ocean floor. It is the third highest volcano in the world and the highest point above sea level in the Atlantic.
Teide was formed about 170,000 years ago, probably on a Tuesday. It is still an active volcano - as mentioned before, it grumbled away in 1909.
As the nice man said yesterday, bring a woolly. The July and August average is about 18oC. June and September sees 14oC. It is below 10oC between November and April.
What is the point of being a large piece of geology - having chaps scramble up it, that’s what. Sir Edmund Scory ,noted in 1626, gives descriptions of ways to the top and the problem of being jolly high up. In 1715 the English traveler J. Edens and his party made the ascent and reported their observations in the journal of the Royal Society in London - as is only right and proper. The important thing is it was first ascended in 1582. Well, firstly by people who were going to make a fuss about it,
On our way up we will pass a Refugio. Apparently it is temporarily closed.
You can’t beat the review of a lump of geography and almost 10,000 people have.
Klio 19 said, a month ago, ‘Absolutely stunning views, like from different planet. Make sure you stick to the trail, you are not allowed to go anywhere apart from 1 or 2 designated paths without permit.’
Two weeks ago Kamil observed ‘The summit of Spain presents a remarkable experience. The hike, which necessitates prior authorization, offers an exceptional ascent. A roughly 40-minute trek leads to the peak, where the vistas are undoubtedly impressive. The entire experience is exceptional, and the pervasive scent of sulfur is noticeable.’
Into every life a little rain must fall and Swiss Moonlight is one star.
Overrated !!!
Tickets; You have to book ticket some days earlier depends on the season( arrive at least 20 mins before your booking time )as they got only 1 cable car. They won’t wait for you if they left.
I was expected to see the volcano 🌋 but the closest point is still 2/3 hours hiking (guide told us)
It was minus degree and super super windy.
You can stay there maximum 1 hour (with tour guide you can stay a bit longer )
It’s a nice way to drive up , the sky and the cloudy and the nature but for me it’s only a mountain hike. Nothing else ! I don’t know why people loves it just for some mountains 🏔️
