Somewhat uneven

Bits of Tenerife are superbly bleak and barren and it is no wonder that, apart from the very occasional farm house and fisher hut, this place was largely depopulated until the arrival of desalination plants and jet aircraft.  Today’s route, along the coast, south of the airport, does feel a but like that.  Landing at Tenerife Sur you feel you are on the edge of nowhere but, in fact, there is a little bit more before you fall into the sea.

Having said that we are in for some slim pickings today.  La Tejita car park gets 127 reviews and 4.2 stars.  Paradise Gardens Apartment - lovely to see the traditional names making a come back - summed it all up. ‘Spacious free parking lot with a somewhat uneven surface. If it is full, it is conveniently parked along the road. Just a few hundred meters from the wonderful long beach with fine black sand or the trail leading to Montaña Roja.’

One looks south and imagine that the next stop is Antarctica.  Africa has the plain bad manners to stick out a bit and  De Peche De Lamhiriz in the Western Sahara is more or less in the way.  A barber shop is nearby.  It has five reviews and five stars.  According to Polina ‘Great place with great haircuts, great and kind service, great guys❤️🌸✨🫶🏻🤍🧸🍾🌷😍🥹😘😉😏❤️🔥🔥🔥☀️☀️🙏👇🙏🙏🙏🙏’

Back to Tenerife.  We are passing the Graba Music Studio and I thought we’d pop in.  It is LGBTQ+ friendly https://www.grabamusic.com/studio and three months ago Francesco wrote ‘State of the art studio in Tenerife. Claudio is an extremely passionate, professional and competent mixing and mastering engineer. Not only he did a great job, but he spent time making me understand everything he did. Highly recommended.’

We end, heading along the Avienda Los Abrigos.  Let us rest.
