Huts, hovels and the occasional two story building.

The Blog exists as the younger sister of the Facebook Page.  With the FB page I generally know who you are.  With the Blog - not being willing to pay for the depth analytics, I was surprised to see that 140 people were moved enough ‘Much a do about something’ - the Post of 16th June 2024.  Seeing as most of the hits are coming from Singapore, Hong Kong and Mexico I am either a bit hit amongst the bots or there are some people I may be confusing in foreign parts.

We are heading down to San Isidro.  Spanish wiki went big on the place ‘San Isidro is one of the most dynamic entities in the municipality of Granadilla de Abona, being its most populated locality and the third largest.’  Originally it grew because service sector workers for other communities dwelt there. Subsequently it grew infrastructure and became a place.  Before all that it was described thus in the mid nineteenth century thusly

‘Farmhouse located in the district of La Granadilla, neighborhood of La Orotava, island of Tenerife. It is 4 km from the street of the dm. 918 m., and is made up of 7 one-story buildings, 2 two-story buildings and 8 huts or hovels. 2 built by 3 v. 20 a., 1 temp. And 1 inhibit.’

We will end the day in what I will always think of as the pueblo of Churchcrumble.  Chuchurumbache was described as ‘Farmhouse located in the district of La Granadilla, (...). It is 5 km from the street of the dm., and is made up of 2 one-story buildings, 1 temp. and 1 inhabit.’

We are passing Bar Casa Tona. Three months ago Victor went 0.9 stars ahead of the average 4.1 and said ‘The food is outstanding, as is the service. The atmosphere is a bit rundown, and many people are just there for the same thing: drinking cheap wine and hanging around. But at a good time, the food is good and the daily homemade dishes are delicious.’

We turn south, passed the Ermita de San Isidro.  89 people reviewed it.    Kehop said,a year ago, that ‘It used to be a place where you could enjoy the afternoons, but not anymore.’ Look, it is nice and tidy place but I am sure that anyone could consider it worth an afternoon.  Johnny liked it ‘Very nice, I was at the patron saint festivities, my cousin played the timple and I shared with my cousin and my uncle. It was great.’

Down the main drag we go. The Hotel Aeropuerto Sur seems to suggest in its title what it is all about. It is three stars in quality and 2.7 in reviews.  This intrigued me.   Two days agoDona  said ‘Excellent staff with the best disposition to help with any questions, extremely clean, very rich breakfast’   Two weeks ago Maria said ‘Just left the room and it was very bad, dirty, the room was very old, all night without sleeping because of the heat inside, no air conditioning, no fan and with respect to the buffet, much to be desired, I would not go again’  As always I urge you to visit and make up your own mind.

We cross the TF-1 and so gateway our way into the deep south.
