Good
Another day of wiggling around the TF-28, passing villas and fincas, admiring the use of volcanic stone for wall after wall; peering down on the playas and generally enjoying the sun in a world of English autumn elsewhere.
1492. The Spanish crown was finding the New World; duffing up the southern Moorish kingdom and getting all very expansive. In Gran Canaria the governor, Francisco Maldonado, organised a raid on the natives which ended in disaster. The Catholic Monarchs got miffed and granted Alonso Fernandez de Lugo the right to conquer Tenerife - which was all nice and legal. He popped up at Santa Cruz de Tenerife in May 1494 he brought 2000 foot and 200 horse. Some locals submitted, others resisted. The First Battle of Acentejo [31st May 1494] saw the Castilians wander into a ravine with lots of thick and spiky shrubs saw most of the Spanish killed. De Lugo escaped and came back for the Second Battle of Acentejo on Christmas Day. This time the Spanish used their firearms effectively and routed the locals. The natives surrendered to the Crown of Castile in 1496.

Angelina said ‘This hardware store is very well stocked; they have practically everything, very good prices, and excellent service. It also has the advantage of being open on Sunday mornings, which is great for those who are busy doing things at home on the weekends.’
The Deposito Municipal is a one reviewed sort of a place. That review is from Candida. They give four stars and a single word ‘good.’
