Multitienda Chimiche is all you can hope for, well, what Rebecca thought.  Given the picture with this I guess she is a cyclist.  She wrote of this general store ‘Bike rack, picnic tables, fresh bread, packet ham and cheese, fresh fruit, biscuits and pop - everything a cyclist needs for a picnic lunch. Friendly and nothing else around.’  Dacil felt ‘You find everything! And the attention is wonderful! I've even gone for a sandwich, and they make it for you right away! super cool I have also bought hardware and electronics and in a moment they have it in a treasury!’

The Islands are 100 kilometres off the African Islands. 2.26 million people decided this is the place for them and, as of 2025, 23.6% of them are foreign-born  In 2019 76.6% of them are Roman Catholic and, of the rest, 2.8% are of other religions.   People seem to like coming here. Tenerife had, in 2023, about 6.5 million visitors: Gran Canaria 4.2; Lanzarote 3.0; Fuerteventura 2.2, La Palma 0.15 million and La Gomera and El Hierro a mere 53,644 in total.  



The Wiki table on the page I got the data from gives monthly data from2018 to 2020.  It will shock you that no one came in April and May in 2020.  I was one of the 528,873 people who visited in February 2020.  In 2019 Tenerife peaked in March and was busiest in December, January, February, March - with August coming in 5th.  May and September were the quietest.  2018 was a little different. March topped again, October was 2nd and May still least popular.



Let me tell you a secret. Restaurante El Secreto de Chimiche is well beloved and gets 4.7 stars from almost 600 reviews. It is a lunch place.  It does 1-5.30pm, closes and hour earlier Fridays and Saturdays, when it opens from 7-9.30 as well and is fully closed Wednesday and Thursday.  https://elsecretodechimiche.com/en/  A seafood potato salad with set you back 17 euros, a sharing shredded goat meat croquettes 14 euros and beef chops go for 72 euros per kilo.  Yesterday Silvia said ‘The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Everything was explained excellently. The food is of high quality and very delicious. The passion fruit cream, which was charred at the table, was the crowning glory. Thank you, Diana. The ambiance is inviting and exceptional. It is highly recommended.’

  Pina de Ebro has something for everyone who enjoys the architecture of Spanish pueblos.  It has the tiny lanes, on which houses have been rebuilt for generations without a care for the needs of the modern motorist.  We have the pathways which have been tiled over but once were dirt tracks.  We have the modern suburban developments of low rise houses and 80s hopefully aspiring shacks.  First all, however, we have a park.
