Carrow Road's Island Home

 It is a little known fact that the Canary Islands were named after Norwich City Football Club, as Jean de Bethencourt, an earlier conqueror, was a big fan of East Anglian soccer.  Well, maybe not.  The Islas Canarias is probably named thus because Pliny the Elder said it was, as archipelagos  go, had a large number of dogs of all sizes.  Yes, welcome to the Isle of Dogs. Of course people have theories.  Some say it is derived from the Nukkari Berber tribe and others blame monk seals.  

On we go.  We’ve not opped into a petrol station for a while so let us view the wonders that Cepsa has to offer.  A year ago Santi said ‘Kindness’.  There is not enough kindness in the world.  They also gave four stars.


The Udaco supermercado is next on offer.   Four months ago Shivam summed it all up ‘It’s a nice local store and the only one in the neighbourhood.’



I was intrigued by the Blue Paradise ColviningBikes.  They have a Facebook page. A post of 15th May 2024 said ‘New acquisition! The internet is okay, but unfortunately, the wrong priorities are set here, and it gets extremely cold at night! The water pump is very loud at night! You definitely need a car here! I was hoping for more…’   Four months ago Estibaliz reckoned ‘A shame to see what they have done with this house. It was beautiful, an authentic Canarian house, a gem. They have destroyed it’

Mini Pieces of Supposed tuna

  Pina de Ebro has something for everyone who enjoys the architecture of Spanish pueblos.  It has the tiny lanes, on which houses have been rebuilt for generations without a care for the needs of the modern motorist.  We have the pathways which have been tiled over but once were dirt tracks.  We have the modern suburban developments of low rise houses and 80s hopefully aspiring shacks.  First all, however, we have a park.
