Through the scrib and into the past

We are scrambling amongst the scrub - I typed scrib, I think I like scrib, scrib is a more ordered sort of scrub, where was I?  The map says Mirador al castillo de Santa Barbara. I thought of going up to look but then found out it is merely a place we can look at the castle, not the castle itself.

We will get back in to the N-332 and then off it and to the Archaeological Museum of Alicante.  Do you want some ancient local history?  Why not.

Remains of humanity have been found going back to the 4th century BC, By the 3rd century the chaps were doing a bit of farming and shepherding.  In the 2nd century they were bronze adopters and built villagers and in the first the Iberians were there with Phoenicians and Greek accompaniments. The Carthaginians built things and the Romans captured them.

The Museum gets 4.7 stars from over 11,000 people. Yesterday Yann managed to hold it in with their five star reviews. ‘Very interesting museum, complete, video, interactions etc.’  Mimi was much more forthcoming ‘This is a very interesting museum that tells the history of the city of Alicante, the province of Valencia, and its surrounding areas. It displays archaeological artifacts from different historical periods: Phoenician, Greek, Roman, Visigothic, Muslim, Catholic, and contemporary times. It offers information on the archaeological sites in the area. It's a very interesting place to visit.

Admission is 5 euros for an adult; children are free. It's a good place to go with children (in strollers). It's a bit far from the center of Alicante, but you can get there quickly by tram, to the Marq-Castillo stop. Tickets can be purchased at the ticket office, where you can leave your belongings. Liquids are not allowed in the museum.’

Google reviews top with Warrior, Permanent Exhibitions, gladiators, etruscan, temporary exhibition. Hospital and candles.  The museum is open from 10am till 10pm, except sundays [closes at 2pm] and is closed on Monday.  http://www.marqalicante.com/  I’d invite you to go, I’ve looked at the website and I want to.

We are going from back streets to front streets, crammed with the sort of shops that exist to fulfil needs till the rents get too high.  Time for a hair cut.  The Randy CM Barber Shop exists on instagram https://www.instagram.com/randycmbarber?r=nametag , is LGBTQ+ friendly and gets 4.9 stars from over 100 reviews.  Aymen said ‘I highly recommend your hairdresser, the welcome is smiling and he does his hair very well. Thank you very much Max❤️’ Stephany added ‘I took my son for a stylish haircut and we were delighted with the result. Max was very professional in his service. The look was fantastic! The atmosphere was super pleasant and clean, something we really appreciated. We will definitely come back and recommend this place.’

Onto the Parc del Tossal. It is a mix of green and concrete.   Five days ago Francisco said ‘A great place to play sports with kids and adults. Beautiful views.’  Lexa was also moved to say ‘It's a fantastic park. It has shade, a children's area, restrooms, a calisthenics area, artificial turf soccer fields, basketball courts, a bike loop, and a running track. It's wonderful.’

Let us sit and enjoy the trees.
