Still beautiful in the end of October
We are going into the Parque Garcia Sanabria. It is one of those well pathed and treed sorts of a place, with shade and benches. Jake does a good job summing it up ‘What a lovely park. Everywhere you turn there is something beautiful in front of you. There's plenty of cacti, trees and other flowers to look at. There's structures and statues, fountains and arches, there's also cafes at either ends as well as toilets. If you look carefully enough you'll spot parakeets and frogs in the pond too. Definitely worth checking it out if you visit the city!’
One of the highlights is the floral clock. I’m not sure what you can add to ‘it’s a clock’ and ‘it has flowers.’ Edy does his best. ‘Beautiful park with variety of plants trees and flowers. Still beautiful in the end of October. We really enjoyed our walk.’
In to the typical streets and past Etereo by Pedro Nel. 2185 reviews. 4.8 stars. Two weeks ago Natalia said ‘Visiting this restaurant was a great choice. We ate the best steak we ever had and the wine and dessert were amazing as well. What makes this place special is the outstanding service. Especially Manuel did a great job, as he recommended us meals exactly according our expectations. He can perfectly describe every meal in the menu to the detail which is something not happening often. Highly recommended!’ A day ago Manuel opined ‘The atmosphere was very welcoming and the staff very attentive. Regarding the food, it really came up to our expectations and there isn't something to point out as negative. For gluten intolerant people there are a lot of options and the staff was very involved in taking care of preparing the food right.’
Up and along we go. The Rambla de Santa Cruz has a path in the centre and trees and play equipment..
Off we go and into the Museo Militar de Almeyda. https://ejercito.defensa.gob.es/unidades/Madrid/ihycm/Museos/canarias.html Paul does a go job of summing it up. ‘Located on the outskirts of the city, but easy to reach (bus 920 leaves you 50m from the museum). Housed in an old fort, built in 1884. Not very big, arranged on two floors of the main building and in a few other rooms in an adjacent building. You can see weapons starting with the old ones and up to the modern ones, old flags, uniforms, military decorations, models of old warships, different types of ammunition. There are several military vehicles in the inner courtyard, including two tanks and two helicopters. An interesting museum, with free entry. You need 60-90 minutes to visit it. There is also a small cafe with a pretty nice view.’
Let’s stay in the cafe and enjoy that view.
