Dasha's dismay

We are heading for the sea and even though we will only fall 79m, we will see the briny in the distance.  We are following the CV-70 down the hill and alongside neat roundabouts, one story cafes with extensive external seating; hugely windowed show rooms and supermarkets.

We’ve not been to a Boxing Club [and Gym] for a while so let us pop into Vista GYM - Gimnasio, SPA & Club de Boxeo.  A review five months ago proclaims ‘The best woman in the whole world trains here, above all.’  Olga, 7 months ago, still gives 5 stars and ‘I've been going to this gym for several months. I like it. Yes, the machines aren't the newest, but they all work and there's enough for all muscle groups. Great view of the sea. Friendly staff.’  Likewise Raf goes the full five but is mixed ‘For me, one of the gyms with the best machines in the area. Whenever there is a broken or defective device, they try to fix it. The schedules are increasingly easier. out of ten’

I have a fondness for Spanish Supermarkets. It is where the differences and similarities whisper themselves most clearly. Time to visit Mayymas.  This one gets 4.3 stars from 1114 reviews.  Parking is the thing mentioned most in reviews [29], followed by assortment [19], Fish [17],  to go [16] and butcher shop [14]. It opens at 9am and gets steadily busier till1-3pm then declines till a lesser peak from 6 to 8.

We’ve done gym. Let us end with a second.  The Gimnasios Legacy FitnessSL has a somewhat stylised gorilla as its welcome. It opens from 5am to 12 midnight and has 4.7 stars from 26 reviews.  https://legacyfitnessbenidorm.com/  They apparently do merch, but I couldn’t find it.  Jr Benidorm loved it ‘Amazing gym, very good atmosphere. Very spacious, easy parking and wonderful facilities. Staff of 10’

Dasha hit a snag.  One we might have hit if we had all piled in when this was posted.  Dasha said ‘Today I tried to get into your gym! I rang the doorbell twice, explained to the receptionist that I couldn't figure out how to access the gym on my own for 1 visit, I'm new. I asked her to help me with access, to which she replied that the gym was closed today, although there were a lot of people inside, and she answered my call to the gym. This is strange. There is 0 customer focus. The gym itself may be good, but the staff doesn't care about you at all.’

The owner replied ‘We apologize for your bad experience. Our gym is open from 5 a.m. to midnight, 365 days a year, for members only. Open hours are Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., and 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The rest of the time, access is free without a reception desk. Access is via member QR codes or by purchasing online. We're sorry you didn't know, but there's a sign on the door explaining this. We'll answer the doorbell from our cell phones in case there's a QR code issue, or we can explain why, in this case, Sundays are free without staff. Please contact us via Instagram to resolve this.

Perhaps we must add gyms to the warning about the opening hours of regional museums and their opening hours.  Tomorrow, Benidorm.
