Bocadillos. cycling and goat meat.

We are out and about in the stretches between communities and are dropping 183m.  Below us is the motorway, hurtling south, while we have a hairpin bend to turn round.  We will also pass the Finca Don Manuel bus stop.  As it has no reviews we will move on.

Eventually we will move into civilisation. Bar Agricola https://consolepsp.com/bar-agricola   The top review comments are bocadillos 42, cycling 19, parking 18, goat meat 16, arepas 13 and economy 13.  Two days ago Vanessa was short and sweet. ‘We really liked the food, good service, we will definitely repeat 👏🏼 …’   Cristina added ‘Despite the heat, we survived with the fans. 😉 Very good homemade dishes. The staff was very attentive. We'll be back 😉👍🏼

The Imprenta Candelaria printing shop is shown as being over the road on the map but has the same address as the bar.  Dazman was not happy ten months ago. ‘A clear lack of professionalism. They forget things and don't care about their customers. There are many places that, even when they tell you they'll take care of something, then don't even bother you. I don't recommend them.’  The owner replied ‘Thanks for your review. You were supposed to stop by the store to discuss what you wanted... and you never came... Best regards, I hope things go well for you.’  More recently Ana said ‘Wonderful, super professional’

We left pre-Spanish Tenerife with Phoenicians and Berbers and the like forming communities.  The Guanches, as History and wiki call them, seem to have lived through fishing, shellfish and a little light agriculture. The island seems to have been divided into small realms, ruled by a mencey.  In 1464 Diego Garcia de Herrera turned up, declared he was the Lord of Canary Islands - under the Crown of Castile, signed a peace treaty with the locals and built a tower - which the locals knocked down in 1472.

We’ll end at the Restaurante La Casona del Vino. It is LGBTQ+ friendly , has a menu and 4.5 stars from 1581 people.  The recent reviews have gone 1 or 5. I’ll share a couple:

belen gave two [yes, I know what I said] ‘The place is beautiful and cozy. One of the prettiest places I've ever seen. And the service was very, very attentive.

I was a little disappointed with the food. I ordered sirloin because I don't like fat, and they gave me tips with several pieces of sinew or fat that I had to remove from my mouth. The fries were cold. My husband's meal was good. The appetizer was very good. I thought the price was excessive.

Rosa was impressed. ‘This restaurant had been recommended to us, and it's actually quite good. A large, spacious, and pleasant dining room, with good service...we had sweet potato with almogrote, rice soup, and good wine. Reasonable prices.’

We will stagger on to our rest.
