The British are coming!

Update on Brewer’s Luck.  Not thrown the book out and declared I will never read it again so give it a go.  Is that a bit three stars.  That is unfair.  It has interest and characters who are interesting - and not entirely out of central casting.. Maybe too much happened in the one book. I will probably buy the next one and give the first another go. Trouble is, I am comparing with Hornblower - who I probably read at the right time.

We are going down hill - a quarter of a kilometre.  We will pass the Moli de Bolulla - of which Olesia said ‘The mill is destroyed and fenced off, there is no access to it.’

On to Bolulla itself.  Guarding its entrance is LGBTQ+ friendly Bar L’ Era.  It gets 4.6 stars.  Yesterday Anna gave it four stars.  ‘It's a family restaurant. Homemade food and local produce. They served us a salad with old-fashioned tomatoes. Everything was delicious. The croquettes were homemade and the roast chicken was exquisite. Both pies were also very good. The staff was very friendly and attentive.’

Like many villages, they have preserved the old communal washing place.  Olesia was as unimpressed with this as they were with the mill.  ‘Closed📍forever! Although it is very well preserved, it has not been cleaned for a long time and does not function’

The pueblo website has a nice photo of the place.  https://www.bolulla.es/  The place was gutted when the Moriscos were expelled in 1609  - there were only 14 families in 1646. It grew to 1146 in 1920; crashed to 277 in 1991 and today has 424 - 40% of whom are foreign born.  Damned foreigners, coming over here?  Where do they come from?  Well almost half are Brits and 6% are German,

When end the day near the cemetery.  It has a single, 4 star review.   Silvia doesn’t stay why.  And so ends the day.
