It is a real problem to do when you cannot leave
Today is another peak Spain day - in that we start by going down lanes so small that the cars need to breath in, go across new ‘ just bung a wide new road here’ places and end up in a mildly ignored track between agricultural trees.
We start by going passed the Jewish cemetery. Elly sums it us thusly ‘Interesting site. It has been abandoned since 1492 and had other uses since. No human remains appear present. The grave chambers are closed with metal doors. In the visitor center of the nearby castle some Jewish grave goods from XIII-XIV are shown.’
Down and down we wiggle, turning eastwards near Helados Monllor. This is a 4.7 star ice cream parlour. https://heladosmonllor.com/ They have been selling ice cream since 1925 and open from 12 till 2 and 4.30 to 8.45 every day, except Sunday, when they open from 11am and extend their hours from 4.30 to 9pm. Two days ago Alexandra was entranced ‘ Pure craftsmanship. I loved the flavors and look forward to going back to try more. I read a review that indicated they had a few flavors; nothing could be further from the truth. They probably have around 30 different ones. The one that surprised me the most was the Teresa cheesecake; it was spectacular.’
Suddenly we are out of town and the sky becomes large around us and - funnily enough, above us. We will cross the railway and look in at Lopez Creaciones |Iglesias. Alas it is closed permanently. I wonder when the closed are removed from the Google universe.
On into the wide laned hinterland of the Sagunto. The Parc de Bombers gets 11 reviews and 4.6 stars. Five years ago Juan Carlos left a confused review for one star. ‘Bad, don't do the next thing late, but because you don't train for half an hour for the Almenar march and the police have accompanied you hand in hand, but if you have little TV programs where you fill your mouths, everyone calls for heroes to continue like this.’ Vicente is more common in his reaction ‘Good and very necessary performance and excellent work of this team of professionals.’
Next door the recycling centre is appreciated and spurned as is usual Raquel reckons ‘The staff is very attentive, but you cannot take the car full of rubble baskets and return with them without unloading because the containers are full, the removal of what has accumulated must be managed more efficiently and no one should be left without unloading, it is a real problem to do when you cannot leave what you want and you already have it loaded.’
And so we head out of town.
