You get what you pay for

It is a bit of a day.  We are going to wander amongst the developments, the occasional few room cottages and the back roads away from it all.

First we will go to Casa Mila.  Aleaxandra liked it ‘Our business lunch at Casa Mila was a success. We ordered a Valencian paella that was spectacular, the kind that makes you feel like you are in the heart of Valencia. To accompany it, we ordered several tapas, and there was not a single dish that disappointed us. Everything was full of flavor, with fresh ingredients and prepared with love. The atmosphere of the restaurant was ideal, cozy and relaxed, perfect to disconnect and enjoy with colleagues. In addition, the staff was always attentive, with a friendly treatment that made the experience even better.  Without a doubt, Casa Mila is one of those places where the food is great and you want to return’

We will cross the grandly named L’Estany de Nules - they’ve damned the river and created a pool.  Thence, up the canal and avoid the town to enjoy the back lane.  This will mean we will miss the Faro de Nules.  I think we need to consider Yaroslav’s five starred review. ‘Nice lighthouse in the world. But nothing to see there. U can't climb it.’  I wonder what would force them to give three stars.

Let us stop on the beach.  The Playa de Nules is a gritty one.  People seem to like it.  Sixto says ‘Peaceful. Of stones but pets are allowed.’

We are in camping country.  Camping Costa de Levante ‘s web has some nice photos.  https://www.campingcostadelevante.com/ It is available from 15 euros a night.  Jane is very thorough.

‘The campsite is rather rustic.  Pitches are big enough, gravel and surprisingly level.  The reason for 3 stars is the sanitary facilities.  Basically, they are knackered, broken doors that mostly won't lock. Hot water is hit and miss and frankly mostly a miss.  I was so bad I used the men's showers for the last two days, with my husband keeping guard.  These have to be amongst the worst i have experienced.  I wouldn't return for this reason alone.  It's full on long-term shanty affairs, with two rows at the very front.  It's a shame because the location is perfect, right on the beach and within walking distance to the centre of Moncofa, which is lovely with plenty of bars and restaurants, a couple of supermarkets too. It's cheap@ 15 euros ( extra 2 for the dog) includes electric.  Get what you pay for i guess!

So we wander into the next seaside hamlet and thus we go on.
