In the land of the winter dogs

 Today is a day for a stroll along, some of it by the sea, and not to wonder about the affect of Carlism on the Economy and Populace of Castellon.



We are by the Playa de Pinar. It gets 4.7 stars and Alfredo said two days ago.   ‘Spectacular beach of fine sand without stones’  Jowiton seems to have an issue over the fact that dogs may be an issue when lots of people are using a beach.  ‘They say it's a dog-friendly beach, but only in winter. I don't understand why. If you can walk your dog on all the beaches in Spain in winter without any problem, they don't say it's a dog-friendly beach if I can't go there during the bathing season to swim with my dog. Political garbage, as always, they cut off your legs and then try to sell you the wheelchair with taxes. I don't recommend it at all.’  Mind you, he tends to be a 5 or 1 sort of a chap.


 We are going to follow the road for a bit but turn off to the reclaimed land and the Nudo Beach Club.  https://nudobeachclub.com/  It gets 3.7 stars from 1160 reviews.  Yesterday Alexion said 3 stars ‘Located on the seafront, this pub offers a unique experience with spectacular sunset views. Last autumn things seem to have been a bit tetchy as a lot of low star reviews went in, such as Manuel’s ‘Clearly a reflection of today's s***** society. A friend of mine was not allowed in for wearing a basic Nike t-shirt. It's a pity that we couldn't go in to spend our hundreds of jacks, we won't return unless they invite us to an open bar. Greetings to those at Impala, good sound, good people and a better club.’

I don;t think we have been to a casino yet.  Let’s nip into the Orenes Gran. https://orenesgrancasino.com/  It opens at midday so we are good,  It comes out as a 4 from over 1000 reviews.   Six days ago Jaume thought it was ‘A bucolic spot facing the port, with impeccable and cordial service, especially from Yaimara.  Reviews tend to be effusive or very glum.

Time to nip in land  and continue south.

  Pina de Ebro has something for everyone who enjoys the architecture of Spanish pueblos.  It has the tiny lanes, on which houses have been rebuilt for generations without a care for the needs of the modern motorist.  We have the pathways which have been tiled over but once were dirt tracks.  We have the modern suburban developments of low rise houses and 80s hopefully aspiring shacks.  First all, however, we have a park.
