I am delighted with my purchase

We are heading to the seaside because we’ve walked at lot and need a bit of R&R. Before we get there we have another long day where we will pass a lot of industrial and logistical concerns doing what they do.

Alright, it’s a fair cop. We are also here because a fruit crate. In our house we have a room stuffed full of what you get when you have been doing living history for almost forty years.  We have stuff.  Some of it very much used stuff.  Some of it stuff we can’t get rid of because we might need it one day.  Stuff which lives in the twilight zone betwixt these worlds. Some of it lives in a wooden crate marked Gustemiel.  We’ve come home.

We can’t remember where we got it from. I can’t imagine things have been dispatched to Blighty in anything other than solid, non nonsense, cardboard. Trouble is, I can’t remember picking it up in Spain either. It is a mystery.  Google gives the place 4.1 stars from 19 reviews.  They say of this self identifying Fruits Wholesaler ‘Clementines bought today 1.5 kg filet at Grand Frais in Montpellier for €2.99. Small size but very juicy, thin and shiny skin (of course compulsory treatment). I am delighted with my purchase and I recommend them to you.’  That was Patricia a year ago.  Four months ago Sergio was less impressed with the taste.

Thebrandname ‘Gustemiel’ was established by Nebot Lucas Sl  in 2001.  The application for trade mark register says they deal with ‘Agricultural, horticultural, forestry, and grain products not included in other classes; fresh fruits, oranges, mandarins, clementines, and vegetables, seeds, plants, and flowers.’ They had let it lapse in 2013.  According to another source, and you can thank Google translate for this, Nebot Lucas Sl. can be found at Artana Street, Lost Child’s Farmhouses.  They are on Instagram and have nice pictures of oranges https://www.instagram.com/naranjas_gustemiel/

I tried the website but it was down.  According to the blurb the search engine provided with the link ‘Nebot Lucas is a family business specialized in cultivation, manufacture and shipping of citric fruit. With a tradition stretching back 60 years, we are, over all, farmers. ... to maturation allows us to guarantee the quality of every orange and clementine that carries the "Gustemiel" label.’

I think we need a drink after all that and the Bar Restaurante Campos will provide.  According to the picture they are very into draping Spanish flags everywhere and have gone for the brown formica table look.  Elisa liked it three months ago. ‘’A very cozy bar and the owner is charming!!!! We will return!!!’  A year ago Daniel said ‘The best bar in the entire province, you can have a sinpa without a problem, it lets you smoke during off-peak hours, Pepe is a great person, an ideal bar for the fachas, I will miss him when he retires, although some customers they are wanting it’ In fact you have to go back a year to find a negative review.  Monica reckoned ‘The bar was empty and he said that he didn't serve us breakfast, that he was alone. lousy place’  As ever, I urge you to go there and make up your own mind.

And so we plod on.
