Three Mayors and some birds
After the excitement of the street of three eateries we are in a day of emptiness, where the CV-2392 offers us fields, woods and windfarms. Even the Ermita de Nuestra Señora de Vallada, apparently a ruin, has little to offer us as the website is not available - it tells me it is a ‘bad request.’
As we edged towards the boundaries of Barracas we may muse on the stability of the polity. Since 1979 they have had three mayors Jose Manuel Collado Peiro was UCD man of the moment from 1979 to 1987. Domingo Salvador Izquierdo held the post from 1987 to 2003 for the PP. Antonio Salvador Correll has been in charge since then. Currently the place has 3 PP and one PSOE councillors.
We are amid the trees and so may look out for the birds. They have several round here. Many have adapted to dry terrain and of interest for hunting, such as the red-legged partridge and the quail. Turtledove and wood pigeon can also been found. There is also a large number of birds, the common kestrel, the peregrine falcon, griffon vulture and the Egyptian vulture.
