Plazas of delight

We are still in Sarron and to be honest, who wouldn’t be.  It has a Plaza de Espana - fairly standard; and a Plaza del Arroz and a Plaza Union Musical de Sarron.   We will go near the town hall - which has a website with some great photos https://www.sarrion.es/ and webcam.  https://ibericam.com/teruel/webcam-sarrion/  Currently not a lot is happening.  A silver and a read car are parked and it is a bit cloudy.




La Tienda Nueva Cafe-Bistro is nearby so we will pop in, Three months ago Loles reckoned ‘The menu consists of several first courses to choose from, seconds and dessert. The cardoon with almond sauce is very good and the secret is also, the best for dessert, the Custard.’  Generally all the reviewers are happy except the ones who didn’t get served.



Currently the mayor is Estefania Donate of the P/  Of the 9 councillors, 3 are PP, 2 PSOE, 2 CHA, 1 PAI and 1 Teruel Exists.  I suspect most English Parish Councils have less elections and more struggles to get people to give up time for the thankless task of having minimum power and less budget.  I was never asked for my political allegiance as we never got enough people for an election.  Bohemian Internationalist was one option I muses or possibly the Esperanto Insurgency Party.  The Whig Party was not in the running - despite my desire to exclude the House of Stuart from local government and prevent an absolute monarchy on the Isle.  Trouble is, a modern Whig Party already exists.



Sarron is ‘The Spanish Capital of the Black Truffle.;  An International Fair, dedicated to the same, is help in December,   The Feria Internacional de la Trufa has a website.  https://fitruf.es/ They are currently working on the next edition.

Mini Pieces of Supposed tuna

  Pina de Ebro has something for everyone who enjoys the architecture of Spanish pueblos.  It has the tiny lanes, on which houses have been rebuilt for generations without a care for the needs of the modern motorist.  We have the pathways which have been tiled over but once were dirt tracks.  We have the modern suburban developments of low rise houses and 80s hopefully aspiring shacks.  First all, however, we have a park. One thing we noticed, especially with a small boy in tow, was the number of parks with interesting play equipment.  This is because, in Spain, people seem to like children.  This does make them a semi-public property and people feel free to indulge them with sweetmeats and pass comments. ‘I think sucking thumbs makes children look ugly’ said one elderly woman.’ My Spanish for ‘well desiccated prune face, no one asked you’ deserted me.  The play equipment is in the Plaza Pilarin Artigas.  Honestly I’ve looked and was giving u...
