Not being entirely reserved.

At first glance Barraques appeals to be road with a village rather than a pueblo in its own right.  This seems borne out by 196 inhabitants but given it had 576 in 1950 then its claims for more than a service station can be substantiated.

The town has chosen to identify by different names across time.  It  has been known as San Pedro de Belmonte, Las Barracas de los Reales, and finally Barracas. In Valencian, the name is Barraques . At some point the Duke of Berwick got his hands on the place. It does lie on a transport route, with railway, N-234 and A-23 all within 250m of each other.

There are three places to eat along the National Road.  The first we come to is the Restaurante Sole. It gets 4.3 stars from 248 reviews.  You know, I always like it when waiting staff, who have one too many awkward customers, answer back to a one star review.   A week ago Carlos said  ‘They did not want to feed us, after waiting 10 minutes to be served, they preferred to give the table to a man who came in after us and who also did not have a reservation, the head waiter was very unpleasant and unfriendly. I for one will never try to eat there again.  The owner replied ‘First of all, thank you for your evaluation. I'm the head of the room. Why don't you start saying that the dining room was full. The man behind me had a reservation. At no time have you been treated with any lack of respect and it has been clearly explained to you what was happening and that there was no room. I would tell him that we are at his disposal whenever he wants to return but he has already made it clear that he is not going to try to eat again. Thank you so much’

About the same time Maria thought ‘Very good place to eat. Fast service. He caught us doing the black-eyed green route. Very economical'.

South of the Sole is the Norte.  It only gets 3.6 stars.  5000+ reviews give it 3,6 stars.  It has a website.  https://restaurantenorte.com/  Vincente said ‘good It's a very big ‘road bar, tea tent. They have a wide variety of tapas and cuisine. you have embers The service is good and fast. I was almozan, it eats well and at a good price.

Finally Los Llanos - from over 6500 reviews it gets4 stars. 8 hours ago Jose said ‘The food is good, grilled, with long hours and prices that are standard, they are not expensive.’  Yesterday Jhon reckoned ‘A great place to stop off along the way, with excellent service from Mrs. Nely, who was friendly, courteous, attentive, efficient, and effective. This will now be a must-see on the way to Zaragoza or Teruel. Thank you.’

So. well fed, we move on.
