After the fires and the road
Some fools think that in some ways we are separated; distinct and different. I say no! And I have proof! Today we come to a place where some splendid citizen of Spain has thought. ‘You know what; there was once a road here. They have built the road in a different place. I know, I’ll write a blog about it’. These are our people! We have come home! https://www.carreterasabandonadas.com/2020/12/
To be honest, their blog is much more successful that mine. Had I only know deserted roads was the way ahead. The blog has lots of pictures of the road we can’t go down and mentions round here were Civil War defences.
Today is St John’s Day. It is a holiday in the Valencian region and also in Ceuta. Like Pre-Reformation England bonfires are a big feature of this the night before - yes, we missed that, but it's a holiday so if there was any shops they would be closed.
Back to the road. We are on the CV-2392. We are avoiding the improved National Road and Motorway and going down what Google calls ‘mostly flat’ and what we says is down 182m.
Just as we get to the roundabout at the end we will pass another abandoned station and so approach the CV-209 and happiness.
