Some very tasty tripe

It is Good Friday.  It is a holy day and holiday across the whole of Spain. We are going for a wander.  Alas, it is a wander round a town without a lot of streetview.  Expect narrow.

Lets pop into Lo Cafe - 4.7 stars ,  First thing we find is a review that says it is not called Lo Cafe as Carlos tells us a year ago.  ;That bar is no longer called Lo Café. The current name is Bar Cheros, run in a spectacular way by Pedro. I tried their ham croquettes, cod croquettes, meatballs in almond sauce and some very tasty tripe with the appropriate touch of spice, washed down with two soft drinks to finish with a couple of chocolates for dessert. Very delicious homemade food at a very good price and in a family atmosphere. Highly recommended.;    Also a year ago Pau added ‘A good place to stop on the way and have some tapas. Omelet, torreznos, croquettes..’

Onwards to the Cooperativa de Mazaleon for a little olive oil.  https://www.cooperativamazaleon.es/ We can buy oil and peaches.  Well, we can buy many things.  A peach scented candle will set you back five euros.  A 2 litre bottle of extra virgin olive oil will set you back about 18 euros.  A certain Rachel Sampson wrote, a year a go ‘Olive oil direct from the producers. Some of the finest olive oil in the world. And a few of the old presses to see and photos of local production.’

We are of to the Municipal Swimming Pool gets two reviews and five stars and is closed.

We will end at Santa Maria de Massalio. Teresa said ‘Beautiful Church in El Centro de Colmenar de Oreja with impressive frescoes by the famous painter Ulpiano Checa, highly valued in Paris. Distinguished with the Legion of Honor.’

Let’s see what will happen next.
