Observing the road
The N-420, like so many roads, has been improved, with cuttings and crawler lanes. We will follow the merry slog up about 70m today.
First we will quickly nip off to the Coll del Moro memorial. This observation point was fought over and apparently Franco visited it several times. Apparently it attracted the Celti-Iberians as well.
Onwards we hope for a coffee but the Restaurant Coll del Moro is marked as temporarily closed. The last reviews were two years ago. One was an unworded three stars. Jessica gave one and said ‘I don't recommend it. The service leaves a lot to be desired. We ordered three pizzas and a bottle of water, it took an hour to serve them and they looked like they were steamed. During the waiting hour we had to ask for water to be brought to us because they did not take our drink orders. There was only one table with 6 people and there were 3 of us. He charged us 37e. We couldn't finish the pizzas, but NOT because they were big or filling. Anyway, I won't come back and woe betide anyone who comes.’
Three years ago Miky wrote ‘It is not recommended to go. Even though it says it is open, it is closed. Shameful, an unnecessary 47' detour. Glasses on the door, broken bottles, broken windows. It looks more like abandoned.’
On and up we go.
