A field lost from the hand of God
The matrix is broken - reality keeps seeping in. Well, actually what we have are a number of conflicts in Google maps. The street planner allows us to walk through buildings which has subsequently been built. Some of the streetviews are of 2021 and some 2023. Things have changed.
First we are going to the football stadium, Ruben waxed lyrical ‘A field lost from the hand of God. Dirt field in good condition and a bar that turns out to do its job very well. Very good football atmosphere when the regional plays.’ This field of dreams hosts the Argonese Regional league. The next match is away, at Chiprana, on the 13th. On 27th Calaceite host Escatron.
Back to the road where we will pass Oleo Calaceite SL. Their website appears to be under construction. Five months ago Gratiela gave five stars but no words. 17 reviews give 4.7 stars The only words are from Jimi, six years ago. Jimi says ‘It was cool.’
Next door is Ruma Agromecanica SLU. https://rumaagromecanica.es/ Matthew Brooker gave them five stars. ‘Always helpful and attention to detail on my aging Discovery 300TDi and farm equipment. Fair prices and a good shop within for hand tools and handheld motor machinery. Everyone is always patient as I learn to speak better technical Spanish too. Thanks!’
We are now in the world of developing back lanes, running into the sort of places that usually find themselves on the fringe of towns but now find the pueblo advancing towards them.
We are ending up at the 4.7 starred Supermercado Coaliment Calaceite. It identifies as woman-owned, Two weeks ago Lidia wrote ‘Our trusted supermarket in the area, they have everything and the boss is a crack!’ At a similar time Kate wrote ‘This is the best village supermarket, run by locals, promoting local products. Butchers counter with the best beef burgers you can buy for miles. The fuet they sell here is also amazing. The best thing is how much they care and how friendly the staff are. In the world of today this is so hard to find. Equipazo! Gracias 😊💪 …’
We will pop in for a bit of a snack and a rest.
