Rich Rich
We are back to 2008 as far as Streetview is concerned. We will emerge blinking into 2023 before descending to 2014 by the end of the day.
We are heading for Sobradiel. Never have I think I have seen a place which is so big, have so little written in English or Spanish wiki.
The town hall is a splendid building and the pictures on the website show a busy and occupied river valley community https://sobradiel.es/ The website says
‘In 1140 Ramon Berenguer , Prince of Aragon and Count of Barcelona, donated the castle and town of Sobradiel, with its neighbours and boundaries, to his vassal Artal . The lord had dominion and jurisdiction, he owned all the lands in the area, he was the owner of the hunting and fishing grounds, he owned the oven, the shop, the bridges and the inn. Two families held the lordship of Sobradiel for a longer period of time: the Cerdán de Escatrón and the Cavero families . The inhabitants of Sobradiel were tenants of the lands in the area until recently. The National Institute of Colonisation acquired the Sobradiel Estate in 1945, later selling it to the farmers.
The town was destroyed in 1582 as a result of a massive flood.
We are passing Boggiero 132. It has no website or reviews so lets just nip down to the Cirilo Bar and enjoy what Lorenzo said was ‘It is a place of a lifetime, and almost a must-visit if you are in Sobradiel... Eat dinner, lunch, tapas, very complete in all aspects, thank you guys, see you soon’ Carmen added ‘They make some killer sandwiches. Rich, rich.’
With that done let us head out of town.
