Expired three chocolate cake

 Once upon a time I read an article in New Scientist.  In it it explained how areas die.  The fundamental idea was, if you reduce access to a single point the place loses vitality.  This may be seen in some South London estates, which had a major road reducing the entrance to a single underpass.  Likewise the Jewish ghetto in Venice may physically be near the centre but was difficult to get to.



I say all this, not, because the suburb of Santa Isabel is dying but has a feel of an island.  We begin by crossing the Rio Gallego and find the suburb divided by the Z-40, A-2 and N-II, all being pretty nifty autobahns.  



Santa Isabel has that suburban feeling.  We have a scattering of older houses; new high rises and a slow development of lower rise, gardened villas.  14000 people live here. It got a lot of redevelopment as a result of Expo2008.  



I was intrigued by Christian Peluqueros.  It is highly thought of.  It opens from 9am to 8pm weekdays and 8.30-3pm on Saturday.  It is mostly busy around 2pm and 8pm.  It gets 4.9 stars from 123 reviews.  The most recent review by Irma says ‘Very professional, I felt well cared for, respected and listened to. Thank you. I will return without hesitation,’



Frutos Secos El Rincon   https://www.fselrincon.com/ Google says it is a dry fruit shop.  The website suggests otherwise.   Marisol says ‘I have been buying bread for two days late in the afternoon like every day around 9:20 p.m. Surprisingly at that time it was freshly made and hot, it had been a long time since I was lucky enough to have it just come out of the oven. So you can have a comfortable dinner. I will definitely continue buying the warm bread for dinner! 👏🏼 …’  A year ago, Marta was less happy.  ‘Expired three chocolate cake that should have been removed from sale previously. Purchased on 11/8/2023 and harder than a stone... they have no complaints form, nor a shame for nuts in the corner!! On Sunday I went to get an explanation because the store manager is not there either!It looks    awful and I almost have to cut down the cake!!’




So we go out of town and along the side of the N-2, until we join it.

Mini Pieces of Supposed tuna

  Pina de Ebro has something for everyone who enjoys the architecture of Spanish pueblos.  It has the tiny lanes, on which houses have been rebuilt for generations without a care for the needs of the modern motorist.  We have the pathways which have been tiled over but once were dirt tracks.  We have the modern suburban developments of low rise houses and 80s hopefully aspiring shacks.  First all, however, we have a park.
