Snowfalls in Burgos are quite frequent, and can sometimes be quite abundant.

We continue on the road less traveled.  Given the very keen provision of crash barriers I presume it is liable for bad weather where a quick slide in the snow so here is what the ‘Climates to Travel’ website says about winter weather,

;The winter, from December to February, is quite cold. At night, the temperature often drops below freezing, moreover, in periods of good weather, fog can form. At times, there may also be very cold periods. On the coldest nights of the year, the temperature generally drops to -8/-9 °C (16/18 °F). The coldest record is -22 °C (-7.5 °F) and dates back to January 1971. From 2000 to 2020, the lowest temperature was -17 °C (1.5 °F), recorded in December 2009.

Snowfalls in Burgos are quite frequent, and can sometimes be quite abundant. For example, in December 2004, 40 cm (16 inches) of snow fell. Sometimes it can snow even in April.

Where the BU-525 meets our road, so we find Obarenes,  The hamlet only seems to exists to be someone to walk away from.

Obarenes,is not just a village but a mountain range,  The range has an approximate length of 30 km, and an average altitude of 800 and 900 meters. It stretches from Hoces del Ebro in Sobrón (Burgos and Álava provinces) to the Conchas de Haro in La Rioja province, where the Ebro River separates it from the Cantabrian Mountains.  The highest peak is Mount Cantona, which is 1353m.  I Love the Google translations

  • Peak of the Enemies ( 1205 m )

  • Windows Peak ( 1170 m )
