‘Very nice, hidden and very well preserved’
To be honest, the excitement from today will all be based around walking into Rebollar. It is one of those towns that clings to the road and manages to pack a lot in for the people following the one good path through the hills.
To be honest there are a lot of places called Rebollar and most seem to have more going for the,. The Church of San Romain has its fans. Rodrigo only went 4 star. ‘The parish is beautiful but when the children from the school there come, they make a lot of fuss.’ Five years ago Montserrat added ‘This parish is close to the Church of Miera, which is where the photos were taken, on Saint Matthew's Day, the town's festival of the town hall of Miera, an impressive altar with three fabulous altarpieces and the Virgin of the Ascension. Right next door is the parish museum and the saltpeter caves,’
The Tourism Information office gets no mentions in Google. The Pharmacy does, but no reviews. Reviews do not exist for the Urgent Care centre or the cash machine. We will walk near, but see, the Puente Medieval. Wildnames noted ‘It is literally a piece of history that crosses the beautiful Miera River. Although it is not really Roman (it is from the late ancient - early medieval period), it is perfectly preserved and framed in one of the most spectacular forests I have ever seen. If you like nature or are simply in the area and want to take a walk, this place is magical, to say the least. A place to connect with the good and disconnect with the bad. Jose added ‘Very nice, hidden and very well preserved’
With that we will push on into tomorrow.
