The place where frogs abound

We are, essentially, going through Renedo today.  We are heading up to the Northern most western approach to Santander. Renedo is one of those towns which has a highish rise main street full of flats juxtaposed with little lanes, usual sweeping drives, tiny cut throughs and a plethora of subrural villas for the extensive outer commutes of Santander.

According to wiki about 5000 people live here. This may be considered a success for a place which translates as ‘place where frogs abound.   Since 1875 it has had a June livestock fair.

First let us stop as El Mariachi Lobo.  It gets 4.8 stars from 200 reviews so it must have something going for it.  Three days ago Nayara said ‘Great experience, the restaurant is very nice, the workers are very friendly. All the time attentive to you. You're having dinner and they come to sing. The food is very very delicious. I recommend coming 100%’ Zumba was also taken by the singing.  ‘Very good restaurant, delighted with the food and the atmosphere. Above, the owner of the restaurant sings. Phenomenal, highly recommended.’

The town website is updated regularly.  https://www.pielagos.es/  It reckons that the place has 66 things to look at. https://www.pielagos.es/arquitecturas-civiles I think the last time we had some us time is on that saloon in the village north of Compostela.  Let us go to Bumblebee.   Celia was clearly blown away.  Incomparable with any other nail center, I have been doing my nails every month with Ruth for more than a year and there are no words, the attention, affection and delicacy she puts into each service is a 10, a great professional who will go very far. far. You are the best girls.’

One of the last visits before we leave town. Bar Las Vias seems a typical place, with a covered outside welded between bar and road.  It is LGBTQ+ friendly and gets 4.7 stars.  Odon reckoned ‘Good place in Renedo to refuel with a good ☕ if you stop by after a workout with your 🚲. The owners are very nice and always have a smile and comment to make you feel like one more. One of the old bars that is a must stop.’

So we leave town and head north again.
