With the gentle always visible
We are walking by the seaside. Most of the development is recent. Enjoy it for what it is. The beach gets 4.4 stars from 1976 reviews - which is not bad. Walvin was impressed a week ago. ‘Quiet and beautiful beach with a perfect landscape for walking and relaxing. It has soft sand, the crystal clear sea along with the sound of the waves invite you to enjoy without worries. An ideal place to disconnect and recharge your batteries.’
Heading off to the road we go through the restaurant, Playa De La Espasa. It is open from 11.30am to 10.30pm - so we will have a wait / have just got in / have hours - depending on when you read this. 500 reviews give it 4.2 stars. Lucia’s experience, five days ago, was unusual. ‘The waiter's phrase when ordering some coffees and not realizing it was “don't touch my b........”. Bad service. The day before we had gone to buy some sandwiches, poor quality and expensive, on top of that they threatened us saying “may this be the last time you order tomatoes.” They take advantage of the fact that it is the only beach bar in the area. Shameful that in a place as wonderful as Asturias there is that type of restoration.’
Recent reviews are down. Let us be positive. Four weeks ago Josune said ‘It is a beach bar but we were surprised by the portions, good squid and mussels. The atmosphere is very good and the waiters are very nice.’
We have time. Lets do one more bar. Playa Madre has a website that can’t be found and nor can parking. An hour ago Daniel gave four stars but warned ‘The worst, the parking. Either you go early or there is no room.’ Oscar was wowed. ‘A dream California? an old Ibiza or a Cantabria with a hippie atmosphere? I don't know, but the place is beautiful and very pleasant. Also take a walk through those pastures on the edge of the cliff above the sea. The food is very weak, yes, but a sunset there is worth more than hitting the carts.’
We end with a review of the path itself. Bicicletas Bikemania concluded ‘Coastal path for all ages, without difficulties, depending on the length we intend to take, at the foot of the sea we can walk or bike, with the gentle always visible, livestock area, very pleasant as it has beaches in a very short distance, in season high may be more saturated in areas,’
