The waiter who served us was very friendly, the rest not so much.

 We are heading back into Llanes, crossing the river and popping into the Tourist Information Office.  https://www.llanes.es/  A year ago Marieke was not impressed. ‘Don t go here, people who don t like their job.. they provide you with out of date information, timetable from the trains last year. Useless, because the train left 20 minutes earlier..pity, because they only go 4 times a day’   Two weeks ago Matuka was more positive. ‘Located in an old fishing market, it has a schedule with a lunch break. They give you the possibility of downloading a local application if you find it closed, as happened to us.’  A month ago Rico was fulsome ‘The employee was very efficient for what we required...Good and original idea to rehabilitate the old fish market for this’








The Gran Hotel Paraiso is so named that we must part with £72 and spend the night in this three star paradise.  The most recent review - 5 hours ago - is not as helpful as it  might be’.  ‘We have not stayed at the hotel, we came to try the "peñasanta" ice cream and we really liked it.The treatment of the staff is super good. Highly recommended  A week ago Mabel was won over by the place. ‘We have been there for a few days, we loved it. We will return!!! Very friendly staff, especially the man at reception at night. Thanks for everything! The only thing about parking is that you have to leave the area a little and look for’









Soon we will be out and about.  The next village on has that feeling of age and holiday homes.  Some of the tiny cottages have been modernised, others left to rot.  The Sidreeria La Espuela  serves all till midnight, with a 12 euros fabada and bread at 50 cents.    Yesterday Carmen said ‘If you are looking for a menu of the day, there is no one, they have a varied menu









The day we went it was raining and we asked to eat inside, there are only three tables, the rest of the service is done on the street, it is true that you don't get wet but for the unpleasant weather being inside is appreciated. The waiter who served us was very friendly, the rest not so much. I recommend it for the food’






We must pass on.  Out of the village we follow the road and end the day 66m above sea level.

  Pina de Ebro has something for everyone who enjoys the architecture of Spanish pueblos.  It has the tiny lanes, on which houses have been rebuilt for generations without a care for the needs of the modern motorist.  We have the pathways which have been tiled over but once were dirt tracks.  We have the modern suburban developments of low rise houses and 80s hopefully aspiring shacks.  First all, however, we have a park.
