More than what any child/teenager needs


 We are starting the day crossing the Rio Nueva and skirting the edge of the settlement.   We will pass very close to the Hotel San Jorge.  St George has 2 stars it gave itself and 4.2 others bestowed on it.  The first two reviews Google suggests are 



Marcelo - three weeks ago -Overpriced, low quality and with BED BUGS!! The lady at the lobby was very kind and helpful though she did charge us €167 for a room that should not be more than €45. Bed bugs and mosquitos attacked us in the middle of the night. I would not recommend it unfortunately





Two years ago Tom said ‘BED BUGS, DO NOT STAY HERE. Room was dirty and the toilet leaked when flushed, sanitary nightmare. They refused to refund my money, so on top of being disgusting, they are also thieves.  I should also add, when I asked for my money back, the owners son threatened me physically, I can't emphasize enough, DO NOT GO HERE








Mind you, a week ago Javier said ‘Beautiful location on top of a hill in the town. Quite large private area. We took the room at the last minute because we were traveling. Value for money that is somewhat more out of touch with reality than other places in the area. We got the feeling that it was much more expensive than average. Breakfast included. The room was just the right size, as was the bathroom. It had a terrace. Friendly attention from the staff. Private parking.’





As ever, we strongly advice you to visit and make your own judgement.



This stretch of the road has many restaurants.  It also has Llanes Surfcamp.  This is highly thought of and gets 4.7 stars from 78 reviews.  Surf types don’t tend to write more than ‘yeah, it was great’ but Pauli’s mum did a year ago.






I am Pauli's mother, it was the week of July 9 to 15, 2023. hahaha, the treatment of the monitors was excellent, the same activities when they are tired mean that they do not stop, and for the rainy days they were always doing something. The house is great, they have everything and more than what any child/teenager needs to enjoy there. Very good food, everything clean and they take photos, they play games, paddle tennis, surfing, snorkeling, we go as they told us and when when we pick her up she tells me I want to come back, that means that everything was a 10. Thank you for everything.


With that in mind, let us plod on towards Llanes.

Mini Pieces of Supposed tuna

  Pina de Ebro has something for everyone who enjoys the architecture of Spanish pueblos.  It has the tiny lanes, on which houses have been rebuilt for generations without a care for the needs of the modern motorist.  We have the pathways which have been tiled over but once were dirt tracks.  We have the modern suburban developments of low rise houses and 80s hopefully aspiring shacks.  First all, however, we have a park.
