The 3.8 star residence

We are wandering round the backlanes and barely roads of Asturias. We will be a bit short of cafes but will do our best to find diversions.





The Residencia Tercera Edad La Familia’ is a retirement home with nine reviews and 3.8 stars.  Patricia was very pleased four years ago. ‘Very familiar treatment. My grandmother was there for many years and both my family and I were very happy. The place where it is located is in nature, and also being small and being treated so closely made my grandmother feel more comfortable.’  The one and two star reviews are silent on why.




Apparently Ferralla Lois has a corporate office out here somewhere. Enrique says of it ‘Beautiful town in Asturias’  I’m confused by everything to do with this.






That’s it.  Let's do the next seven day weather forecast for Oviedo, as we are heading towards that. Tomorrow will be cloudy and 24oC.  Sunday will be sunny and 29oC.   The rest of the week will be low/middle 20s with cloud, drizzle and some sun.

We cross the Rio Porma and into Villarente and Puente Villarente.   Pina de Ebro has something for everyone who enjoys the architecture of Spanish pueblos.  It has the tiny lanes, on which houses have been rebuilt for generations without a care for the needs of the modern motorist.  We have the pathways which have been tiled over but once were dirt tracks.  We have the modern suburban developments of low rise houses and 80s hopefully aspiring shacks.  First all, however, we have a park. One thing we noticed, especially with a small boy in tow, was the number of parks with interesting play equipment.  This is because, in Spain, people seem to like children.  This does make them a semi-public property and people feel free to indulge them with sweetmeats and pass comments. ‘I think sucking thumbs makes children look ugly’ said one elderly woman.’ My Spanish for ‘well desiccated prune face, no one asked you’ deserted me.  The play equipment is in the Plaza Pilarin Artigas.  Honestly I’ve looked and was giving u...
