Club model, organized and very careful.

 We are turning away from the board and kempt and into the small and untidy in terms of roads. This should be rolling hill farms but you get the feeling that even the countryside is being spruced up, given a hair cut and told not to slouch about a bit.  Rural Asturias, at least when you are this close to the motorways, is being tied to the towns. 





Villa Birdie holiday home is one of the tidy buildings, offering hope to the weary traveller for rest. Kathleem wrote three years ago ‘Large spacious villa with magnificent views. Nice swimming pool but not too big. Big rooms. Very friendly and helpful owner.’  










Onwards to the Real Club de Golf La Barganiza.  It opens at 8am today.   https://www.labarganiza.com/   They have a webcam.  At night the flying insects appear to leave trails behind them.  https://rtsp.me/embed/4NDKitiH/  The club got going in the 70s and joined the Royal Spanish Golf Federation in 1982.  Should you wish to play today it will cost you 85 euros. I am assuming you are not a member of an affiliated club - cos that would mean 5 euros off.

  Pina de Ebro has something for everyone who enjoys the architecture of Spanish pueblos.  It has the tiny lanes, on which houses have been rebuilt for generations without a care for the needs of the modern motorist.  We have the pathways which have been tiled over but once were dirt tracks.  We have the modern suburban developments of low rise houses and 80s hopefully aspiring shacks.  First all, however, we have a park. One thing we noticed, especially with a small boy in tow, was the number of parks with interesting play equipment.  This is because, in Spain, people seem to like children.  This does make them a semi-public property and people feel free to indulge them with sweetmeats and pass comments. ‘I think sucking thumbs makes children look ugly’ said one elderly woman.’ My Spanish for ‘well desiccated prune face, no one asked you’ deserted me.  The play equipment is in the Plaza Pilarin Artigas.  Honestly I’ve looked and was giving u...
