Assuming the Virgin
Spain seems to go for big roundabouts with rotund flats surrounding them. As we drift north we are going along some roads which are graced with older houses but many more new suburbs. Watch out for things that are closed. Today is the Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. This is not a holy day high in the reckoning of decently reformed Northern Europeans. We once went to Ikea on 15th August and found it, and Oviedo, closed.
We are passing several municipal buildings. For example the Comandancia de la Guardia Civil de Oviedo. They get 4.3 stars. Some of the Five Stars are followed by complaints. Generally they get 5 stars, or one. I shall look for a three star review to bring balance to the force. I did. None of the three 3 star reviews mention why.
Across the motorway we find the Central University Hospital of Asturias. From 1002 reviews they get but 3.7 stars. https://huca.sespa.es/huca/web/index.asp TV gave a three star review nine months ago so here it is.
I had to go to this hospital last month as a tourist after an accident. I slipped and smacked my eyebrow :( Unfortunately going to the doctor didn't suffice and I passed out at the hotel before being taken to HUCA emergency room.
Good points: They were patient and did a CT scan (Head injury). Also as a tourist it didn't cost quite as much $$ as we thought for the ambulance, overnight stay and scans. I was very worried about the cost!
Bad points: I was ready to be discharged but the nurses kept saying 'mas tarde' and 'manana'. If I hadn't pushed to be discharged they would have kept me a further day. They also treated my partner badly. They asked me in Spanish (partner doesn't speak Spanish) if he'd been abusing and coercing me. Also they didn't provide him with anything, not a drink or water nor a chair. Side note - my partner didn't hit me I slipped over ^_^
After that we need a sit. Cafeteria 26o It gets 1895 reviews! It averages 4.1 stars. Maria Jesus Rodriguez gave five stars 4 days ago. ‘One of my favorite places to have a drink: beer, wine, soda, coffee... accompanied by something sweet or salty, you're always right. The waiters, very close and friendly. The only downside is that the interior is relatively small and, although the terrace is very large, the place is very popular in the neighborhood and sometimes it is difficult to find a table.’
That’s it. We will end by another roundabout. The AS-381 beckons.
