Taking the day off
Usually I manage to keep a buffer of about two weeks ahead to avoid days like today. I schedule the post. Days later I do the walk. Sometimes I have to borrow some kms from a longer walk; sometimes I do a lot of walking at work but generally I fell morally clean aand up to date. Today we are going nowhere. Work and life have overwhelmed good intentions. Today we are going to the beach.
We are near the village f Caroyas. The Playa de Cueva O de la Areana seems nice but, to be honest, the aerial shots suggests it is a bit cliffy. The Playa de Cueva seems better.
The Playa is a typical Asturian affair. A narrow roaad through a bit of geography; a life guard; a cafe and somne rocks. Glen Smale says 'A serene sand and pebble beach surrounded by rugged cliffs, caves, wild grassland, and lush greenery. It's ideal for relaxation and nature walks, offering many trails and stunning views of the Bay of Biscay. Also, a perfect spot to park overnight and bring your dogs except in July, August, and September.'
The cafe, the Chiringuito Playa de Cueva gets 4.2 stars and Goggle calls it a Stand Bar. Three months ago Andrea said 'We went there because it indicated that it was open, but it was a wasted trip. It would be nice if they updated the information. We will try again another time.'
Alejandro is more positive. 'It is a typical beach place, where the food is good and the service is very good. We were there on a hot day and it is true that it was not possible to be under the awning, but it is something specific, otherwise a highly recommended place.'
We will stay and dip our toes.
