Not for dogs - well, four years ago.

 We are heading to Valdredo for reasons that will become clear tomorrow.  Valdredo is one of those villages which has thrived as the motorway made it a place for subrural living by commuters; retirement homes and holidays homes as well as a few farmers and small holders.  It has a railway station and an all weather football pitch which hosts the funfair and covered area for august’s fiesta.


Bar La Casina is apparently open 11am to 3 am most days.  riday and Saturday is closes at 10pm.  On Sunday it closes at 5am.  It is closed on Monday.  I suspect for most of the closing times ignore Google and change am to pm.   The 101 reviews are overwhelmingly 5, a handful of 4 and a smattering of three.  A month ago Ma Paz wrote ‘Homemade food. We went on a daily basis, they are still starting with the bar but they were very friendly and prepared a menu for us.’  Lucia was even more enraptured ‘Village Bar-Restaurant. The owner is the one who cooks. As for the food and desserts, they are homemade 10!! They don't disappoint. They took great care of us and were quite pleasant. It has a good quality-price ratio. I recommend it without a doubt.’





The Apartamentos Rurales La Carbayala is less well oved - 3.8 stars from 108 reviews.   They are either 5 or 1.   In the last year they tend to be 5 stars.  Marta wrote ‘A pleasure to have been in Carbayala! We didn't lack anything. The beautiful, quiet and relaxing town. The perfect apartments. My dog ​​had a great time sneaking into the neighbor's garden, walking around the town, eating on the terrace of the nearby restaurant. La Vallina beach is incredible, although access is somewhat difficult...but it is worth it. And you're a 15 minute drive from anywhere bigger...if you need it! Thank you for your kindness and good work.’  





The first 1 star review was four years ago.  Rubatronix Red Dead Online shouts out ‘They falsely advertise themselves as pwt friendly.’. Likewise Nieves said ‘I do not recommend this place, they have absurd and incoherent rules, they only allow access to some breeds of dogs and not others. That norm is completely an aberration to intelligence. Possibly the dog that they consider can enter, because its breed seems good to them, turns out to be that it does not have vaccines, etc. But not letting in just because of race is absolutely bullshit.’

  Pina de Ebro has something for everyone who enjoys the architecture of Spanish pueblos.  It has the tiny lanes, on which houses have been rebuilt for generations without a care for the needs of the modern motorist.  We have the pathways which have been tiled over but once were dirt tracks.  We have the modern suburban developments of low rise houses and 80s hopefully aspiring shacks.  First all, however, we have a park.
