50 words and two facts
We are on the way to Frejulfe. It has 36 people living in it. The Wiki page has about 50 words in it and apart from the number of the populace, the other fact is, the place has a beach.
Frejulfe Beach is 830m of happiness.Like so many beaches in Asturias it has not been placed in a convenient point. To get to it you have to go down a narrow lane. Sara gives it five stars and says’Very large beach, with dark sand. AccessBac is easy to go with children. The parking lot is somewhat small, it has a beach bar although it is not open all year round.’ Rosa added ‘Beautiful beach with fine toasted sand and some rocks, where you can surf. There are rock formations.’
We have been there. There will be pictures include. It is like so many Asturian beaches, complete with at least one small stream which a Dad and son can dam, divert and generally cause small hydrodisturbances - especially when the father isn’t really good at sitting down for too long.
The bar is called the ‘Chiringuito La Mar de Fondo’ It is a typical wooden structure, with a decent coffee and a range of things to nibble and slurp. Denis was impressed ‘Very busy place populated by tourists and walkers. Pitched Above the beach so a fine view. Good very good. Waiter efficient.’
Back on the road we pass several places to stay. Let’s try the Shadana Yoga & Surf House. All the reviews are six years ago. Jose said ‘We spent a few days and we loved it.|The house was very cozy and had everything you need to enjoy a wonderful environment, the beach next door and close to a lot of places to visit.|100x100 recommended.|The charming owners|Without a doubt to repeat’
We end the day on the edge of Puerto de Vega. The Hotel Plemar gets 4.9 stars from 350 reviews and costs £100 a night. The worst review on Google gives it 2 stars. Diane said ‘The hotel was nice and staff friendly with a smart room. However the hotel is very small and directly onto a road which was unbelievable busy for such a small place and there are roads on both sides of the hotel. Our stay was ruined by the noise from the road, sometimes the cars seemed to be going so fast and it sounded like they were right outside the room. The noise from the wooden stairs was loud as people cluncked up and down but this fades into insignificance compared to the noise from the room above we could hear everything and I mean everything! So left feeling tired and very unhappy. Do not go if you like a quiet night. Very disappointing.’ Vicky was much more joyful. ‘’Wow, a wonderful find in one of the prettiest fishing villages we visited on our Northern Spain trip. Characterful boutique hotel with a maritime theme and great attention to detail. A warm and friendly welcome from the small team of ladies where nothing was too much trouble. Our top floor room was spacious and very comfortable with a wonderful view of the sea and bathroom with jacuzzi bath and lots of toiletries etc. Everywhere immaculate including the gardens. Buffet breakfast plentiful with fruits, cakes, pastries and egg & bacon etc if wanted. A true gem. We will certainly recommend to friends and family. Thank you so much. Vicky & Mike’
As always I urge to go yourself to find the truth of the matter.
