Plain Progress

 We are on that rarest of all things, a coastal plain in Northern Spain.  The N-634 sweeps along, a little in land, and on the side of it are no end of houses and flats clustering around the calle.  The Barreiros commune covers this area and Barreiros is the largest grouping of people therein - about 1000 people live here.

Ingredients


Broccoli Base

  • 1 bunch of broccoli

  • 3 eggs

  • 2 tablespoons ground flax seeds

  • 1 tablespoon Extra virgin olive oil

  • 1 pinch of salt

  • 1 pinch of black pepper

Toppins

  • 100 g of San Simón Da Costa smoked cheese

  • 50 g of lacón

  • 3 tablespoons fried tomato sauce

  • 2 tablespoons grilled mushrooms

  • 2 tablespoons grated emmental cheese

  • 1 tablespoon black olives

pizza base

  1. Chop the raw broccoli and add the eggs and ground flax seeds.

  2. Season with salt and pepper, blend all the ingredients and add the mixture to a pan with Extra virgin oliver oil

  3. Cover and cook over low heat for 5 min.

Toppings

  1. Add the tomato sauce, mushrooms, cheese, lacón and chopped olives.

  2. Cover and cook for a couple more minutes.

  3. Remove and let cool.

He insisted on bringing us something else and we finally said yes to some toast with bonito. Then he served them to us, they were good and homemade but one with a very small piece of bonito. We asked for the bill and he randomly told us €24!!!! As?!!!! We only had 20 in cash and you cannot pay by card. He did not accept the €20 and told us to spend another day to pay him. The guy has his charm but with these prices I won't return, well negotiate the bill yes.’






We end by a Ferreteria, Ferreteria Gasalla.  It averages 4.6.  Its reviewers are silent men who know what they want and do not want to waste time talking about it.
