Mordor welcomes careful drivers

We are in the world of BIG industry.  Central Térmica ENDESA - ENEL are the people putting lots of fences around the road and keeping us on the straight and narrow.  Let us, like so many, turn away from actually researching and reading through a thing and go straight for opinion.

To be honest this place is worth a visit.  People with their own views, not always related to the site, feel it a duty to comment.  A bit of stand grinding from a cyclist can be added to such as OGM’s ‘With these environmentalists we return to the stone age...happier, make it happen!

Oh, and Franco is no longer in the Valley, we come out stronger!’

We are wandering around the As Pontes de Garcia Rodriquez.  About 10000 people live here and they are heavily dependent on the powerplant for employment.  The place has Medieval roots and a scattering of ancient sites.    Currently the council has 4 Galician Nationalists councillors, 7 PSOE and  2 Popular Party hacks.  Generally the PSOE have been at the centre of things since 2003, with the Galacians slowly declining.  Occasionally local parties win a seat or two.




We are passing Bar Calvo. 4.4 stars from 303 reviews.  Recently it is generally 4, Hector notices ‘It is a very busy place, everyone does their thing, there is good service.’ and Xiba has a bad day.  ‘They took half of the order, they said they couldn't make toast and then they took it to another table and in the kitchen you could see that they had the materials. Breakfast was ordered (coffee, juice, muffin) only the coffees came out....’

Mini Pieces of Supposed tuna

  Pina de Ebro has something for everyone who enjoys the architecture of Spanish pueblos.  It has the tiny lanes, on which houses have been rebuilt for generations without a care for the needs of the modern motorist.  We have the pathways which have been tiled over but once were dirt tracks.  We have the modern suburban developments of low rise houses and 80s hopefully aspiring shacks.  First all, however, we have a park. One thing we noticed, especially with a small boy in tow, was the number of parks with interesting play equipment.  This is because, in Spain, people seem to like children.  This does make them a semi-public property and people feel free to indulge them with sweetmeats and pass comments. ‘I think sucking thumbs makes children look ugly’ said one elderly woman.’ My Spanish for ‘well desiccated prune face, no one asked you’ deserted me.  The play equipment is in the Plaza Pilarin Artigas.  Honestly I’ve looked and was giving u...
