 I don’t know about you but we don’t seem to have slept since we were near Burgos and it is probably time for a kip. Hogets 3.1 stars from 303 reviews. The Hotel Iberia three months ago Gustavo said 5 stars ‘The accommodation was clean and comfortable, and the owner was very friendly. A very good experience’ Most in the last year have been 3. Daydream clearly has never been to the place I stayed in Aberystwyth because they said ‘The worst hotel I have ever been to in my life, not because of the staff... but rather because of the facilities, very old, you could hear snoring from the next room, noise from construction during siesta hours, TVs that are blocked and …’ Once, on a school trip, myself and another teacher were [oh blessed relief] but in a separate block from the students. Between our rooms was another room. It was not snoring that we could hear. Ah Barcelona.

It gets 48 stars and a month ago Ely sais ‘We are staying here for a relaxing holiday, watching fragas do eume, the environment is spectacular, it is very well located: close to the park, close to Pontedeume, with supermarkets nearby and the apartments are in detail. Clean, modern, complete and they treated us with great kindness and all kinds of information!’

  Pina de Ebro has something for everyone who enjoys the architecture of Spanish pueblos.  It has the tiny lanes, on which houses have been rebuilt for generations without a care for the needs of the modern motorist.  We have the pathways which have been tiled over but once were dirt tracks.  We have the modern suburban developments of low rise houses and 80s hopefully aspiring shacks.  First all, however, we have a park. One thing we noticed, especially with a small boy in tow, was the number of parks with interesting play equipment.  This is because, in Spain, people seem to like children.  This does make them a semi-public property and people feel free to indulge them with sweetmeats and pass comments. ‘I think sucking thumbs makes children look ugly’ said one elderly woman.’ My Spanish for ‘well desiccated prune face, no one asked you’ deserted me.  The play equipment is in the Plaza Pilarin Artigas.  Honestly I’ve looked and was giving u...
