Amind the cottages and conurbation

 I think before we start it appears we have readers.  Welcome. I hope this is useful to you, if not as a guide than as a grim warning.

I adore today. What I hear you ask. Is St Robert of Chaise Dieu somehow special to me? Is this abbot and pilgrim, who went to Rome and lived as a hermit of note. Well, to some. But more to the point we are ducking and diving along roads bypassed by modern through-ways and small clusters of aging cottages left as islands among modern developments, It is all kind of cool.

We haven’t said much about A Coruna. It is one of those rare things on Spain’s northern and very rocky coast - a port. The Romans were here. If the Muslims were here they have left scant evidence. The Vikings attacked it and across the Middle Ages it grew. Today about 250,000 people live here.

Lets do breakfast. The Meson Loureiro is open from 6.30am to 11pm. Reviews are mixed. Douglas Henrique said ‘Food reserved for four days or more. The man behind the bar is a bad person, who pokes fun at whoever he thinks deserves it. I will never go back, it is better to have a sandwich than to eat there.’ The owner replied ‘I can accept that the waiter had a bad day and did not have a good face, but from that to saying that the food is prepared when it is made daily and especially the steak, what did you eat today, a filthy lie, but it is true that you can say what Whatever you want, but when I go there, if something is wrong, it is returned but the empty tray does not come. Thank you all for your comment and we hope to serve you better next time.

On the other hand Ioan said ‘A good place to eat. It has surprised me personally. The treatment is very good (just like whoever serves you does so with respect and speed, so the service is 10*) and the food is rich and abundant. I will leave the photo of a second dish from the daily menu. The waitress, when telling me the menu, told me "BEANS". The truth is that I was expecting a few boiled or sautéed beans with a potato (like in Catalonia)

😀 but the dish they put in front of me was impressive. For €10.50 they include everything (drink, bread, first course, second course, dessert and coffee). Being a truck driver I stop almost every day at a bar in Spain to eat and I can say that this is one of the bars where I have had the best time. What a pity that it is not a little better located... they told me to go to the Puga people who are on the other side of the bridge. Keep it up and I hope everything goes well for you.’
As always we recommend a personal visit to find the truth of it.

Wandering round the hamlets we pass the Church of San Cristovo das Vinas. It has a blog. https://sancristovodasvinas.blogspot.com/
 Rafael said of it ‘Remains of the old village now surrounded by road infrastructure. There is still the source that later reached the Monelos River from Grela. A grove of alders indicates that the spring emerges a few meters above’

Beer has often been an inspiration and we are passing the Mega Museu Estrella Galicia. https://mundoestrellagalicia.es/
 The website is jolly good and I am mninded to drink some at some point in honour of this event. The museum gets 4.8 stars, Michelle reckons ‘Really cool beer museum from Estrella Galicia (it reminded me a lot of the Guinness Museum in Dublin). So, there were a lot of details that really stood out. It was a very well organized tour. When you give your name for the reservation you receive a bracelet that identifies you at all times whilst in the museum. As soon as your group goes up the stairs you pass your bracelet at the turnstile and your name appears on the screen with a welcome message. Throughout the tour, the guide explains the beer- making process and you even get to try several different beers at their different stages of processing. The best moment, of course, is the cafeteria where you get a beer (of your choice) and some Bonilla crisps. There's a formula 1 Ferrari car that you can take a picture with and many other photo opportunities throughout the modern building. The gift seemed pricey to me, but I'm sure that others might think otherwise. The famous Galicia ceramic brand Sargadelos has an Estrella Galicia commemorative beer mug at 80 euros, for example. There are some t-shirts and other typical gifts too. Definitely worth a visit if you are in Coruña. Parking is easy around the area.;

I think that is enough for today. We will duck round some industry and head onwards.

ps As you will see from the photos. I take research very seriously.
